It's Official: Here is Our Race

Thats right my team Rogues Racing finally pulled it off. Organizing a race is no walk in the park and we are hoping that this race will become a must do race on your calendar for years to come. If you race in MABRA, TN, NC, PA, WV the whole area you will love this race. This is in our home training stomping grounds. The last race held in the area was the Tour Du Pont back in the early to mid 90's. The road race has a classic mountain top finish, the TT is a rolling out and back and the crit is long and technically challenging with both left and right turns.

Check it out - June 20th. Hope to see many of you here. Especially you DC folks who last year said if we put a road race on you will come out

Make sure you have enough porta johns. Oh, and sweep the course the day of the event, just in case any hooligans decided to bust beer bottles on the course overnight.

Other than that, congrats and good luck!

No, I'll be doing the Tour of Washington County.

That's a tough race to compete with...

Yeah man, looks awesome, too bad it is the same weekend as Tour of Washington County. I know there are a lot of lower cat people who want to race that weekend but did not get into ToWC though.

If it were later in the season like late July or August when there are a derth of MABRA races it would could be really great. But I understand the challenge of promoting such a race, so great work, hopefully I can do it next year.

Yes we did know about the state crit though they added that to the schedule after our event was already up. But mostly that is for people who want to do the BAR. I was not aware of the Wash County race though looking at the flyer since it is capped at 70 riders it will probably be full in 5 seconds after registration.

Anyone know what the RR course for that race is like? I mean to tell ya that if you want some seriously challenging, beautiful, epic, classic etc... terrain to race on then that is what we are offering and this being our first year we believe that our prize list will attract more people as well. You will not see any course like this in MABRA or the surrounding area. The road race is way out in the beautiful Virginia countryside. There was a collegiate race here last season and it was awesome, some of you may have done it.

I don't doubt the course is beautiful.

But ToWC is one of the few stage/omnium races in our area.

You will see a great and probably similar course at the other new MABRA race this year, Lost River Classic. That's a one day race though.

But I digress. The RR at ToWC is pretty good, it is hilly enough that it breaks up the pack a little bit in most of the races I think. No long climbs, but there are a few short steep ones, and one right before the finish.

Are we there yet?

This race is located in southwest Virginia. It is actually a lot closer to major metro areas in TN and NC than most of the rest of VA. (Not really any major metro areas close in WV, but the road race is about 20min from WV.) I can actually reach SC in less time than it takes to get to Richmond. 2h 47min to Charlotte, 2h 40min to Greensboro, 3h 42 to Knoxville. I hope to see all you southerners at the race.

Good luck with the race! I'm also committed to the ToWC, otherwise I'd be there...

Yup and that is really our market but I'd love to see some D.C. people down. A lot of Richmond folks came to the crit last year and loved the course. Every one who came last year wanted an omnium out here. Most of us who race here go to TN and NC to race anyway and we made sure that those calendars were clear on our weekend.

I'm sure those who come out will have a great time and that is the goal we are trying to reach.
