Tour of Belgium

Starts today.

Just saw a black cat get run over by Vacansoleil rider. It wasn't pretty, and I don't even like cats.

I like the pesky critters as long as they don't rip my hands and arms to shreds after asking for a scratch, in which case they instantly transform into futballs/footballs.

Squirrels have run into my wheels and bounced off. One of them missed the wheel and I rolled over it. I looked back and it was writhing and squirming. Broken back I suppose. If possible, I aim for them directly and make a loud noise and they get out of the way...at the last moment of course.

Now, to get back on topic, I'll be watching 2 races today (Ronde van BelgiŽ and Ronde van ItaliŽ) and, oh yeah, working. This'll be a first.

So what happened to McEwen?
Saw him get off his bike with what looked like a cramp, but then saw some nasty thing coming out his knee.
Maybe a bystander with a sign (ala Hushovd).

according to sporza, he hit a bollard, and tore ligaments below the knee (i believe it was an open wound).

it wasn't looking good when he couldn't clip out of his pedal.
