Guess who won....

Timmyquest won today. On the same course that saw me getting dropped on the second lap even though I have been strong lately. TQ won the 5's. I raced the 4's with a camera mounted from Wilke.

Congrats to TQ.

Well... where are they?

G0L0UD 06-06-09 07:09 PM

I saw the break going and I figured it's 5's so they would be back. However they did not come back, and even if I wanted to go with it I doubt I had the legs. I saw another bicycle heaven guy slide out in front of me, I hope he was alright? Anyways congrats to TQ, I sadly ended up in 15th with a scary unclip on the "descent" on the last lap.

Psimet2001 06-06-09 07:25 PM

That was pk that slid out. He's our next big thing. Puts out 375w at threshold and he's 175 or 180. His uncle is our team capt. Cat 1 killer. Genetics.

Tell me about it. Between him and jf - little meatball - we have a stacked team in the lower ranks. We have had 3 different guys win races in the 5's this season alone.

I am the weak link. But I am team manager so they have to humor me.

Scummer 06-06-09 07:43 PM

Holy mother of Merckxs. You guys for being such a loose team have some nice results to show for.

recursive 06-06-09 07:50 PM

Can't wait to see the vid.

Duke of Kent 06-06-09 09:33 PM

Congrats to TQ.

Also of great importance...who won the P/1/2?

I'm hoping it's someone from the host team. :D

eskimo85 06-06-09 09:47 PM

josh carter

patentcad 06-06-09 09:48 PM

Now if the Cubs could only win, he'd have something.

That brings a smile to my west coast hippie face.

Particularly as we only have 4 (?) or so capable bodies racing right now. John Meyers broke his clavicle, and unless they picked up someone new since I got shipped west, they're probably hurting for worker bees.

Congrats TQ.

DoK, so Josh Carter is done tearing around here? He had some serious winter dominance here before our more local 1s found their form. Very impressive.

Oh, BTW, the ATT crit is going to be rescheduled to sometime in Sept. Are you still looking at that trip? I'm not sure what categories they'll have, but w/out an M35+, I'll go where the 2s go. Last year it was P/1, 1/2/3, 3/4, 4/5 for the mens category racing (limited time slots for shutting down downtown Austin). Anyway, my crit legs are improving.

Enthalpic 06-06-09 11:26 PM

Thank God he is banned, he would be even more annoying than normal.

Congrats.

Done? No. His family has a house in IL still; he's up there for the summer to race. DairyLand, SuperWeek, Downers Grove, Elk Grove. He'll be back in TX after the IL/WI scene backs off at the end of August, I'd imagine. His wife is the coach of the Midwestern State U. cycling team. She was our director last year. She knows bike racing, to put it as simply as I can. Great family.

Me like Timmy, congrats Timmy (sorry, but the Zappos "Timmy" post is still influencing me).

Wow, sounds like a cool way of life they have set up there.

Psimet2001 06-07-09 02:33 PM

Timmy took 2nd today. Then he cat'd up and raced the 4's...and beat me.

Colorchange never showed. :(

I did crappy again but little p got 3rd in his first race even though he was woefully undergeared. 4th place started crying near the line and little p sprinted him out.........

......then he kept going and rode the whole circuit. He's 3.

waterrockets 06-07-09 03:04 PM

^^^^ :roflmao2: awesome.

Well, I'm eating lunch outside of a coffee shop, watching people rolling by on their warmups for the crit at the Mt. Hood Cycling Classic. Oh, and I walked here from my house. :thumb:

Bit of a change. Unfortunately, work has me swamped, and while I can still ride 18-20hrs a week, taking time off to race this week wasn't in the cards. I haven't used my PT in 2+ months, but I feel stronger than ever. I'd like to do it next year.

G0L0UD 06-07-09 06:14 PM

You Bike Heaven guys are too strong, I feel like they are just toying with me while I suffer away. Anyways congrats to TQ again. I was told today was supposed to a flat race, to my very unpleasant surprise it was not. Wish you guys were located closer, seems like the training you guys do works.

Also, I saw several people with professional looking cameras both days, besides peleton pics, any idea where the pictures might have ended up?

aham23 06-07-09 07:59 PM

congrats.

Dude, you need to take a look in the great lakes local forum up on top of the main forum page ;)
You'll find John Wilke in there.
