Yeah I was going to throw my name into the mix at the u25 championship since I think that is my best chance at landing the coveted maillot jaune. If I feel frisky I will do the 123 also since you can just treat it as a long, flat, fast group ride if you want to.

Buddy, I would love to race with you again. It's been a while. This would definitely be a fast group ride for me. Especially if John, Charlie, Ryan, and Keith all show up for it.

Allow me to re-phrase.

"Deciding how much political capital and good will I want to go through with the wife racing 2 days in a row. Especially with Mooresville, 3 days of Piedmont and BSG coming up."

I'll see you there.

I've never quite understood these types of comments......if one of your passions is racing why would it require anything other than saying "I'm going racing this weekend" see you Sunday night.....oh and I'll be going next weekend and the next and the weekend after that?

It may be just me, but working a full time job and trying to train a pitiful 6-8 hours and race on average once a week with a wife and 7 year old child limits the amount of time I spend with the family.

My wife is very understanding of my passion/folly and rarely says anything but when the daughter says "Are you going on another bike ride?", it's time to rethink some priorities.

Like getting them involved as much as possible.

If my first passion isn't my relationship with my wife then why am I with her? And would I not want to make sure she is satisfied with my other passions as well? We live as a unit. Not divided.

Hey ....I have a wife, a 4 YO, a 6YO and a full time job. We have a great relationship. I manage to put in 50-70 full 6-8 hour days a year on skis in the winter (with the kids mostly) and in the summer I ride 8-12 hours a week. My wife's passion is tennis....I don't play tennis and she doesn't ride bikes. We manage to both get in plenty of our hobbies and at night we go to bed happy. I would never consider it using political capital to do the things I love just as she doesn't need use political capital to do the things she loves. Sometimes we have to work out the schedules so we can both do our different things but we don't spend emotional energy trying to make each other feel guilty about having different hobbies./interests. We've got a lifetime in front of us and 15 years behind us...

I get the kids wanting dad around.....I've got my eyes on a road bike for the older one already....when do you think she'll be able to keep up;-)

Well, y'all come say, "Hi," if you see me. I'm the one with the white Scott Addict. Most of my team mates have Pinarellos.

An LBS here has one of these for about $1000.

Talk about another set of issues with the wife...

If anyone needs a feed on Saturday I'll be there feeding my teammates in the U-25. I can probably do some people in the Masters race too. Just let me know if you want a feed.

I'd prefer to not be the only one for a person, I hate the pressure of being the only one if I drop it.

Order me a pizza and have a slice waiting on me. So when I come by at 30mph, I'll try and snatch it all hot and melty like. The cheese will slide off and fall on the ground. Someone will slide on it behind me taking out 20 other guys.

Wouldn't it be easier for me to just throw some oil down behind you?

That's blatant sabotage. What I'm doing is causing a diversion, first by you holding out a slice of pizza. I mean how many people will forget to hand out bottles because you have a huge slice of pie in your hand? And then the cheese falling off looks more like an accident. Get it?
