closing down 12km of road on a friday evening in summer so 150 cyclists can lay siege to the polders.

the yellow sign, underneath the speed limit sign is a notice that the road is closed tomorrow night between 6:15 and 9PM because a race will be staged there.

^far more impressive than the thin poster paper with pink and blue crayola markers stating: "Caution! Bike Race In Progress!"

Thats a nice looking road, too.

it is. unfortunately there's some street furniture (i.e. a 2mx2m speed bump) which will make things interesting.

also, 1/4 of the race is on a bike path, which looks like this -



and there's one part which is going to cause a few snake bites, or possibly a crash -

The DOT made us get signs like that for our race. Plus we had to buy huge signs that said "feed zone ahead" and all sorts of other stuff. You are lucky you can get away with paper and markers.
