Not much time, so did a 3x5x1 today (instead of 6x5x1). Bumped power a bit to be dead at the end, and it worked. Kind of like a low-recovery VO2Max workout.

45 minutes of Breaking Bad tempo this morning.

It's ok though.

I spent most of last week underwater myself. Still managed to get in a little time on the bike. Tomorrow will be underwater in rivers, quarries, and stuff. Sunday is supposed to be 5 hours on the bike, are you ****ting me?

Was sick Wed and a little Thurs, luckily it's quickly passing. So, back on the bike today.

1.5 hours easy endurance this morning.

Went and taught for a couple hours.

Then joined some teammates for another ~2 hours. There were a couple big climbs in there, and one of my teammates just got a shiny new TCR Advances, so he's feeling frisky. So it was a bit of a tougher workout.

I've got a long way to go yet, but I'm starting from a much better place fitness-wise than I did for 2012.

Gym again, thumbs numb again but I'm making progress on the squat form
Squats, just worked on form. Got some really bad advice from a chick, but I tried not be an ass. I asked for it... I feel like I'm stretching a nerve in my shoulder, I think I'm okay with the neck.
Bench 105#, sets of 10, 10, 9
Deadlift roughly 90# (plates in kilos), 3x10
Leg press 330#, 5x10.

Leg press was the only "hard" one. Man I hope my form gets in line so I can start pushing myself.

well done. it take a while to build up to it, even when you have done it for a season and are restarting base building. Lately i found it easier to go 5W lower than what my 75% power is to get my legs loose and then build from there.

I did 3hr 40min today, with the first two hours at 73%. I ramped up from there and did the final 30 minutes at 86%.

Now i know we aren't suppose to talk about avg speed, but for the first 2 hours, i was having a hard time believing that i was doing a measly 16.2mph despite averaging 3w/kg. Turned out that my rear brake, which was knocked out of alignment by a "run-in" with a curb , was rubbing against my wheel the whole time. I guess it wasn't all bad as it allowed my to extend the duration of my ride .

Thanks! Not sure if I want to do it again tomorrow. I was just planning on doing another long (3.5-4 hr) ride with a friend but with some hills not really paying attention to wattage. Trying to be more social this winter.

Great team ride for about 3 hours, then tacked on some bonus miles for 5 hours in total.

3 hrs at a nice high z2 today. felt strong, which was unexpected. Previous two days have been 2hrs hard tempo ride and 3 more hrs of z2, and I was mildly hungover.
Legs are nice and sore now. I'm looking forward to something easy tomorrow and then Monday off.
