I can't recall the last time I drank a soda. It's got to be 20 years though. My son has never even tasted the stuff. Never had an interest.

Nothing is better than downing a coke after a hard ride.

Except winning the lottery, sex, the special effects in Transformers 3, the Soviet National Anthem, and QUAD stuffed oreos. But coke is right up there.

I'm a caffeine junkie - it is the only thing that keeps my appetite down. If I stop drinking soda I eat like a hog in heat.

They are pricey, indeed!! I'm always on the lookout for when they go on sale at $1, and then I load up with 3-4 cases.

From memory, Greek-style yogurt generally has the same
or fewer calories per oz, along with double or so protein grams, than many non-Greek yogurts.

Same here. Stopped drinking coffee 5+ years ago, and doing my best to
avoid high-fructose corn syrup for the past 4+ years.

I know many folks frown on cereal for breakfast. I have Kashi Go Lean (not
crunch or crisp), which has 13g/serving -- 2x-6x that of most other cereals.

That is some fantastic cereal - we eat that stuff by the case (well my son does)

gsteinb, mountain man.

Dannon's Chobani equivalent Oingoboingo or whatever they call it is also good but IMO not as good as Chobani.

Mexican coke is pure cane sugar goodness.

I don't drink coffee, it upsets my stomach. Yeah, the guy who grinds his own hot peppers. There's something in it. I drink tea, with milk. My favorite is Earl Grey.

I'm not a coffee guy either. My father taught me to drink it black and that's what I did when I needed it -- mainly when I worked on tug boats. A 32 oz cup of coffee over ice can only be done so many times before you give up the stuff altogether. I will do a fru fru Starbuck's drink every once in a while, but diet coke and coke zero are my staples for caffeine.

As for training status. DOMS. Thanks you sadistic Cannuck.

greek yogurt is pretty much my miracle food these days.

its totally taken the place of desserts and protein shakes and theres so many good flavors i seriously always look forward to it.

i usually have two a day, one after a workout and one as a bedtime snack.

my cold has been nagging all week. i cant really tell if its getting better or nto cuz i've been carpet-bombing the symptoms with dayquil, nyquil and sinex spray, so i'm a constant dull haze but at least i can breathe through my nose.

i went out yesterday to stretch my legs for a bit and felt amazingly smooth doing a couple of short hard climb efforts (like 3 minute all outs) so i turned it into an HIIT session and it felt great and even set a KOM and a couple of PRs in strava.

sposed to do a crit on sunday but i'm not sure i'm up for it yet so i may just do a couple of days of big climbing miles this weekend and then do next weekends collegiate races (HCTT and crit).

3 solid days of commuting again this week. Unfortunately my legs felt completely blocked all three days. Made sure to do a lot of stretching and resting the past couple of days to prepare me for racing this weekend. Mentally I'm ready to kick some arse, but the 6 race days in the last 3 weekends are starting to wear on the legs I think.
