first ride yesterday after my race last saturday. From experience, i knew i probably will suck quite a bit if there has been 72 hours between rides, not to mention 6 days. I was sluggish, and that was to be expected. Good thing that a friend came along and i got to ride in his slipstream a bit at 280W (that's a bit more than 4w/kg). Dude is fast, and it was good to have a rabbit to chase as i'd probably not have done efforts at a similar level.

my legs are really stiff today, and i just hope that they'll be better tomorrow.

btw, what would people here do tomorrow for a long-ish ride? Some VO2max intervals and then time at tempo? Or a steady high Z2 ride? The latter is on tap for next weekend.

New bike is on its way. Can't wait to start training again. It's been a fun and unproductive month.

I hope to make the team ride tomorrow, but with DST and flying from the left to the right coast it might be hard to drag myself out of bed with 4 hours of jet lag.

Training status: well rested and overfed.

Another 3 hrs in Georgia...They took it a bit easier on me today...I must say, what a difference a bit of sun and warmth make for a gimpy body

Great ride today with the team. Ended up a little shy of 70 miles in 3:30. Averaged z3.7.
Got dropped at the 63ish mile mark as we hit some rollers. I'm pretty impressed that I managed to hold on that long despite a strong S wind.
Started off around 35F and ended around 50F. Gotta figure out how to keep the feeling in my toes. Everything else was toasty.

How'd your wife fare today?

The only cycling I got in was related to cleaning my drive line. Spent the rest of the day watching the kids and getting the riding mower tuned up.

Good as usual...Tomorrow will be interesting, first race of the year and she'll be inter-mingling with the men...I intend on sleeping in the truck

Had to squeeze in a quick one before guests arrived for my daughter's b-day party.

1:10 tempo with three 6' high-Z4 jams scattered therein, just because. Felt good to blow the cobwebs off.

Took off early and did a bit over 5 hours yesterday. Legs are a little soggy today. Rest is good.

Only 11 hours of training this week and not enough cycling despite some good road conditions. I blame the massive amount of tests I have at the moment and in the next few weeks. Almost all of my spare time is spent studying. This week of training:

Monday: 2 hours of XC skiing (Short sprints)
Tuesday: 1,5 hours of running (VO2 max intervals)
Wednesday: 4 hours of XC skiing
Thursday: 1 hour of easy running
Friday: 1 hour of easy running
Saturday: A whole day of studying
Sunday: 1 hour of easy cycling (legs felt rotten)

I won't get a lot of training this next week. I will perhaps manage to squeeze in a few short and hard workouts in between all the studying. If I am lucky I might be able to get a long ride on the weekend

No team ride for me today (too jet lagged to get out for a 9 am ride), but did get two hours in whilst it was raining lightly and the wind was blowing a bit. My bike is filthy and I'm even worse, but it feels great to get a training ride in after two weeks off.

15 miles. I did a ~20 minute effort and could only hold 250W, but came out at 22.5mph. RPE felt like 320W would have felt in January. So, speed was encouraging, power not so much.

At any rate, since my recovery started, this is my second ride of any real output. No health issues, so I think I'm really out of the woods now.

Tomorrow, road trip to Beaver Creek, so no pedaling for a while.

jeez, have been neglecting to post for a bit.

Saturday - Local TT series, wind was terrible but was having a great ride until my left leg went completely numb in the last 2-3 k. I've never had this kind of problem before...gonna get my fit checked out by the bike shop.

Sunday - 3 hrs with 2x1 hour tempo intervals with some 20 second bursts every 10 minutes. Local hammerfest starts up this week, quite excited.

I showed up on a lime green fixed gear with a matching deep section alu wheel for "lol"s. My gearing is too low so I got dropped once we started heading toward town on Williston Road, as expected. I was spinning out at like 23 or 24 mph. Did a lot of work and got a lot of crap from everyone about my bicycle choice (all in good fun. Like I didn't see it coming.. hah). Fun ride, lots of shenanigans.

took the long way into work for 2.75 hrs. legs felt like I was riding mid z2 but HR displayed high z1, *shrugs*

Sat was a steady, high z2 and yesterday was 1.5 hours at mainly z3 with some z4/5 climbing and tailwind jamming. tomorrow will be a rest day.

Thanks for the reminder. I did 4 hrs of Z1/2 up the coast yesterday and I could have sworn I fell asleep for 10 minutes.
