1hr ride, with all active recovery except a 5min gun after a warmup, and a 20min FTP test with recovery in between.
Was crazy windy outside today. Must have gotten some of the wind from Irene as she passed by, even 2 hours inland.

Coach prescribed a kill yourself ride today, and so I did go out and hammer myself into so much fine powder whilst buckets of rain did get absorbed by my chammy.

I'm seeing glimmers of what could have been but probably won't be for Nats. Moments of purity in pedal stroke and power output...then the lens goes out of focus.

Well, that hurt. 101 miles 4:35. Another teammate and I stayed with the group for 65 miles then stopped to refill. I lost a bottle at about 20 miles. It was half frozen. I don't think anybody hit it thankfully. Fred note: that was my first official century.
The fast guys did the route in 4:09 I think.

4:11 with a police car stopping the main group too. I spent the day at the pool.

it's the training failure thread. And yes, you should post so i no longer lead the post count there
don't worry, i out fredded you today. I don't know the Research Triangle area and dont' know what roads are safe and where to go, so i went with a ride that was quite slow as it was the only one i found.

Saturday was an easy spin.
Sunday was 3x20's. I'm sore today.

Short version: in yesterday's Vacaville GP M123 race I got caught behind a crash and had to dig like mad to catch the back of the remaining pack. Held on for less than a lap, and then blew up and was popped off. Race failure, but training success: personal bests in max, 10s, 20s, 1min., and 5 min. power. God, I love NorCal Masters racing. :eyeroll:

Sunday - off
Today - 1 hr of mostly endurance. Legs felt a lot better than Saturday. Gorgeous morning. Best morning ride since last fall. I like these rides

Monday: Yoga
Today: 1:45; 2*20' TH intervals, 99% & 97% of FTP respectively; 8 "lightpole to lightpole jumps" on the way in. Body Pump tonight at the YMCA.
Tomorrow: 90 mins SST with a few 1' 53*11 standing surges to simulate the hills for this coming weekend's races.
Think I finally found my recipe for training in the summer Florida heat: (1) train in the AM before sun rises too high, and (2) 10-15 minutes before ride, thoroughly soak jersey with water, put in freezer, put it on right before ride...seems to delay the onset of dripping sweat for about 30 minutes...

Making a kilometer blurry
[edit] link is hidden in white below (unless you've already clicked it), and goes to a GIS of "brazilian" so use your google goggles when deciding what the results may include. NS for everyone's work[/edit]

I clicked on that from work.
Making a kilometer blurry
lol, it's just a GIS for "Brazilian" so there's nothing there, other than the fact that Google has a dirty mind
The URL has nothing dangerous in it.
