Alternating 15" on, 15" off for 10' set x 3. Then 10x10" sprints. I'm plum tuckered out.

Commute in the rain today. Love spring rain! It's all about shorts.

Mine is not under my name and won't be. Too much chitter chatter in our area and to be honest only you clowns and one close confidant know of my plans. Those who know me on here I trust enough to communicate with.

went for a ride, was a little sick so i shortened my sst interval by half an hour. somehow averaged a huge number. im not sitting in the mid-high cat 2 e-wang ftp range and now need to bump my ftp up by a lot. a nice type of awkward moment.

Missed yesterday's workout so got everyone into bed last night and headed for the gym and was there by 9:00, by 9:50 I was stumbling around like a drunk and could hardly walk.
Used the tabata method of training quads and hamstrings and wanted to see at what point I could shut my legs down.
On leg extension with 55 pounds I did my first seven sets 20 seconds on - 10 seconds off. On the 8th and final set I wanted to rep out to see how many I would do before my legs stopped, the magical answer? 182 (though I did in crease the weight for the last 8). This morning? Not feeling the best.

dont remember when i last updated but after the crash i commuted on monday and felt fine then set a TT commute PR on tuesday morning, then did the local HC TT course tuesday afternoon.

maybe overdid it a little as my knee was killin me all day yesterday. iced and took the commute easy and felt considerably better this morning.

i still look like a monster. face is a mess, and cuts and rash everywhere but i'm even more optimistic about not missing any training or racing (this was a planned rest week, luckily)

lined up a new frame (EVO!!!) that should be here next week and in the meantime my CX bike and TT bike are serving me well.

spirits are high!

Garmin question. I just finished 45 minutes of hills repeats and what is interesting is everytime up the same hill the elevation seemed to have gotten lower though I was on the same stretch of road. Thoughts?

It uses a barometric altimeter, which isn't the most accurate thing ever especially when weather is changing.

They use barometric pressure for elevation I think, so it happens. I see it a lot too.

Don't buy the hype. You're just so big that every time you climb the hill it gets a little flatter.

It's because I crush it with my massive power...
Training from my office leaves me with 100 feet of climbing per mile which is good for my carcass.

If you use Training Peaks or WKO, there's an elevation correction button now. I assume it checks it against the GPS data.

Plan calls for active recovery today. I will roll around on the fixed gear for an hour. Perhaps I will head to Midtown and challenge some of the local hipsters to traffic light trackstand contests.

I'm glad you've been able to stay on the bike badhat.

Will hit 180 mostly hard miles for the week this evening. Knocked my best commute from 58:20 to 55:00 today. I had been chipping away at my PB 10-30 seconds at a time for many weeks now. Very pleased with the bigger drop - especially given that there wasn't a material wind advantage (or disadvantage) to sway the number. Maybe less sleep is a good thing...I didn't get home until 1:30 last night.

Yeah, consumer GPS resolution on an instantaneous sample could be off by 20m vertically. On a phone, if the hills are trending down for each climb in a set of repeats, it's likely an effect of the GPS constellation's orbital changes either decreasing or increasing accuracy during the set of repeats.

On a Garmin, this would be due to barometric changes during the ride (a front rolling in, for instance).
