I'm another Gatorade drinker. The powdered stuff has no HFCS, it lets you control the dilution, it's cheap in the big container, and it tastes good. (I also use Bag Balm as a chamois cream, but that's the subject of a different thread.)

I am a Gatorader and Bag Balmer as well. Cheap, lasts a long time, but works about the same as everything else.

2:15 Saturday, 3 hours Sunday. Mostly endurance, with a little tempo and a few digs here and there to test out the breathing. So far so awesome.
The heat was rough Sunday afternoon and I exploded spectacularly about 2:30 into the ride. Luckily my spoke got the hint and took that opportunity to snap in half, so I got a nice little rest at the shop before heading home.

I was a bag balm user, now I must have a leather ass because I've ditched all chamois cream and have no issues...

Comeback day 1: Broke a spoke on the way home…didn't have my multi-tool to open the back break enough so I got to ride 26 miles with a rubbing brake..into a 15kts crosswind..needless to say the legs are toast.
why do i ride again?

insult to injury he CRUSHED the climb, and strava didnt record it.
i was on track to crush it, up 10 seconds on my PR the whole way up until about 2min from the top my speed fell off a cliff. weirdly i didnt feel bad or anything, i just tanked.

I'm backsliding. I'm starting to Strava some of my rides again. It all started on vacation when I did about 10 miles in the Keys on US 1 just because I thought that it was funny and I wanted some of my team mates to know what an awesome vacation I was having.
As long as I don't give a $h1t about segments I will be fine. Caring about Strava segments is counter-productive and Fred-ly.
Anyway, today was a pretty easy 35 mile ride in the heat of the day. It was supposed to be Zone 2 and I ride by feel and not PM. A couple of times I rode too hard for a while and then had to back off to get back on the training track.

I use Strava almost more as social networking than anything else. Cool to see what everyone is doing during the week for training. And every once in a while I will nab a KOM and it's cool to see how my times stack up even if I'm not at the top.
1hr easy ride on tap for today for me.

Dozens of times over the years I passed Phil Gaimon while training when I was on a hard day and he was on an easy day. No way am I anywhere near his level as a bike racer now or even when I was young.

I don't care how I "do" relative to anybody when solo training. I'll look at my Strava output to see if I did what I was supposed to do for that day.

We do have a lot of segment hunters here and some pretty strong riders, by looking at their times when hunting versus my times while training allows me to see where I stand, for comparison purposes only, as I get back into shape. I find this especially helpful when looking at climbs as I am not a climber, still fair pretty well though.
You are getting sucked into the death spiral of Strava. It is virtual MUP racing. Don't do it!!!! If you must Strava, you must not give a $h1t. Otherwise you will end up doing your training rides for Strava kudos instead of doing your training rides to make yourself stronger.
I can't believe that a nobody like me has to tell you this.

I'm another one that uses G2 powder, one bottle up front and a bottle with water on the seat tube. The blue stuff, Glacial Freeze or somesuch.
