Just curious how many hours a week most of you are training. Feel free to include any additional information you feel necessary.
Less than 4 hours
5 to 6 hours
7 to 8 hours
9 to 10 hours
11 to 12 hours
13 to 14 hours
15 to 16 hours
17 to 18 hours
19 to 20 hours
I'm racing 4 hours this week. Training an additional 3 or 4...
normal week (not Superweek), 7-10 hrs. on the bike, Cat 4 (for now)
gravity: it's not just a good idea, it's the law.
8-10 is all that is necessary for the short racing we do here in MABRA at the Cat 3/4 level. So long as it's quality training being done.
normally 7 to 9. 10 occaisionally. 2 weeks this year >10, none >12.
typical is broken down into 1 to 1.25 hrs. on Tu, Wed, Thurs
3-ish hrs. sat and sun
when racing 2x/weekend, a little less.
When? Right now? Average?
im attempting the WR training program where is that guy anyway?
Always shoot for 10 hrs. on the bike, both training and racing. Lately it's been closer to 7 hrs., but heavily skewed towards racing.
last week i trained for +/- 3 hours, and raced +/- 8 hours.
The last few weeks have been 7-10 hours.
This week I have a little over 3 hours. I'm thinking another 4+ hrs before my race.
training hours ~ 11
racing hours < 0
It's actually somewhat enjoyable to ride a bike for no reason other than beat my training partner in sprints and float through the local group rides.
On average, 8 hours = 2 hrs on Tues, off Wed, 2hrs on Thurs, off Fri, 2.5hrs on Sat, 1.5hrs on Sun. If racing, then just Tues/Thurs at 4hrs + couple hours of weekend racing. Seems enough for Masters racing if I avoid the extremely long or extremely hilly road races and make it all high quality training.
I would if I could...
if you race that much you could die
Was doing 11-12 but am bumping it up to 16-18 the next two weeks as part of an 8 week plan.
Broken until next season
10-13 hours a week.
Much less if I'm on vacation or traveling. If the weather's really dreary all week, then I skip a workout or two. I can't stand riding in the rain for a week straight.

I usually get in around 8 hours or so. About an hour a day on the bike during lunch, then some running/walking when I get home at night.
I'd like to ramp it up a little, but there isn't enough time in the day right now. I'm just doing what I can when time allows.
