3 cups in the morning, then a large coffee around 10am. I have been trying to cut out the afternoon coffee but it only happens about every other day.
my experience with the pod coffee (keruig, etc.) they suck.
I'm a coffee in the afternoon/night, for some reason it does a number on my bowels in the morning. For you marc maron fans, POWWW!
Intervals on the espresso machine at the office through to early afternoon.
Sigh, after many years of happy coffee consumption, I can no longer enjoy any because of the caffeine. I've somehow developed a physical intolerance. One cup, and by the next evening I'm sick with a headache and nausea. Detoxing from caffeine was a long and painful process.
I envy you guys.
6 tablspoons of just-ground Rwandan Karrabe beans from WholeFoods. Fresh water, French press and 3.5 minutes.
12oz of glory. (Botto, this is euro strength... barely and American Small, though... I cant imagine drinking 20oz of this brew! my heart hurts with this much as it is.)
French press is the jam. I like it strong and often.
metropolis mocha java brewing this morning. yummy. later.
the best part of wakin' up...
In a race, I had an epiphany that maybe downing triple shots on my way to make a french press wasn't a good idea, and even though the caffeine was helping me endurance-wise, it was also making me nervous, anxious and twitchy.
So I had a little "coffee time-out" and switched to green tea, which, due to L-theanine, doesn't give the same that coffee is well-known for.
But green tea just doesn't taste anywhere near as good for me. So now I'm trying out having both green tea and coffee pre-ride, to get that calming effect of L-theanine while at the same time getting that much needed caffe arabica taste.
Oh, and I only **** with french pressed Stumptown. Preferably beans of the Columbian and Brazilian variety. Stopped drinking gas station coffee in high school.
I live with two Brits. Tea time all day. 3-4 cups every day.
I also have a 100g sack of pure caffeine powder sitting in the fridge for my homemade gels and drinks.
I recommend this for all you caffeine addicted commuters. Sigg Metro Thermos.
I love coffee. I start every day with a big mug of espresso. Those little weenie espresso cups are way too small.
But I'm a lot healthier without the caffeine. Fortunately the roasters in our area make decent dark roast decaf beans.
What's interesting about going decaf is that I am now sensitive enough that I can detect the caffeine in decaf. More than a couple cups and I get wired. So I try to limit myself most days to the one mug of espresso and a cup or two of dark watery liquid at work.
Costa Rican tarrazu. Me likey.
thanks for bumping this thread. i almost forgot i have yet to have my morning double espresso
Huge fan. Grew up with 'cafe con leche' & 'bucci', kinda miss those.
These days I'm a fan of our cheapo $30 espresso machine/milk steamer combined with this. (the black canister - not as expensive at Safeway)
I spent 10 days in Italy. Coffee back home is forever ruined for me.
I have found a great coffee shop, however. It's called La Colombe. It's a must for the NYC guys. Plus, the owner is super cool dude who digs cycling.
i have this machine in my kitchen. It works well, but leaks and drives me mad.
