Hiking transition to tempo training.. how will it go?

ive been off the bike for all of feb/march probably wont really ride until April because I am a wuss about cold weather and hate the trainer.

I'm doing 2 hours a day with 30# pack, pretty vigorous stuff with some decent vertical gain (maybe 2000 feet gross, not sure).

should i be able to hop on the bike and do 2 hours @ 263 watts (personal best for 2 hours ) , my last 2 hour ride back on 1/29/2010? my legs feel great but i really have not been on a bike in damn near 60 days.

I doubt it. Perhaps... but it'll suck and you'll be big time sore for a few days.

What's it matter... get on the bike, ride.

in a few weeks when it gets nicer.

i am just curious. i have never done it this way, but i feel great. it was sort of a burn out avoidance technique since i have some stuff i am aiming for LATE in the season.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of cross training.

You'll feel fine for a day or two and then feel like death, and you will suck almightily for the foreseeable future.

Taking two months off because New Jersey is too cold? And you want to actually race and do well, despite the fact that you apparently have no balls? Find something to cure the vaginitis and get on your damn bike.

Used to be able to jump right off Cross Country skiis and into high intensity on a bike. Know several other MI racers who did the same.
