Well, I find the books compelling but only in that he's done the research of the scholarship that proves what are often, as you point out, common sense notions. What makes his books successful is that he is very good at making sense of these topics for people who otherwise wouldn't care to look into what the scientists are saying.

First Freddie Hubbard et al "Super Blue"

Next 43 year old not so "Fresh Cream":

Driving in my car, smoking my cigar,
The only time I'm happy's when I play my guitar.

More retro vinyl:

Back-to-back Who covers from "Live at Leeds": Summertime Blues and Shakin' All Over.

When you move in right up close to me
That's when I get the shakes all over me

Quivers down my backbone
I got the shakes in the knee bones
Shivers down my thigh bones
Like I'm
Shakin' all over

That's what happens when you say goodnight to me
Bring this feeling all inside of me
Quivers down my backbone
I got the shakes in the knee bones
Shivers in the thigh bones
Like I'm
Shakin' all over

Just queued up Stanley Clarke's "School Days".

I used to listen to the whole thing while running, so now listening to that makes me want to run...

Also hooray for Ladytron. They feature prominently in my intervals playlist.

Haha I guess I should be grateful that my music-memories are causing running urges and not this...
