    Hill Climb Upgrade Points?

Are these considered road race points or circuit/criterium? I didn't see a listing specifically for hill climbs.

    Thanks!

You can only get upgrade points from mass start races. If this is essentially an uphill TT then no points will be given. This is true for your 10 race cat 5 upgrade.

pretty sure it doesn't matter. most are unsanctioned, and I suspect the ones that aren't don't qualify.

I believe they would be categorized under road race, but aren't long enough to be worth any points.

    From the USAC website...

    Qualifying Distances for each category

To qualify for upgrading points, races must meet distance standards. Races shorter than the minimum distance do not qualify for upgrading. However, if a road race is less than the road race minimum but above the criterium minimum, it will count for upgrading using the criterium points schedule.

Category Class RR Criterium and Circuit

    5 – 4 Men 15 mi 10 mi

    4 – 3 Men 25 mi 20 mi
    Women 25 mi 15 mi
    Junior 25 mi 15 mi

    3 – 2 Men 50 mi 20 mi
    Women 40 mi 15 mi

    2 – 1 Men 80 mi 30 mi
    Women 50 mi 20 mi

Based on location, I assume OP's ACA. But I'm sure their rules are similar if not the same.

    Thinking about Mt. Evans, OP?

More likely Lookout Mountain (twice), Cheyenne Canyon, Sunshine, Mike Horgan etc.

There's more than 1 race in colorado every year.

I know this. I actually planned two seasons out. One in KS, on in CO because I didn't know where I'd be this year.

ACA points are basically the same.
