We need to talk about your TPS reports. Yeah. It's just we're putting new coversheets on all the TPS reports before they go out now. So if you could go ahead and try to remember to do that from now on, that'd be great. All right!

I actually ship real products. One is shipping today and the other tomorrow. Too bad it wasn't a week earlier.

Stage hates me. 5 miles into a 5 day stage race and (can't think of the words here) launches to the center line from three rows over so he can ride 6th wheel because the pace is brisk. After we had a crash rolling out of town. Almost takes me out and I end up unclipped. Go to clip back in to find my cleat is "no mas". Great, I only spent two months prepping for this and the guy who will end up 53rd today hits my GC chances with a hammer. No way I can hang up the climb like this.
Rather angry. So I launched OTF with 71 miles to go, knowing there's no way I can hang on the climb with one foot, and figuring my teammates can salvage something. Two guys make the bridge around mile 35, two more around 50, they neutralize US because the Cat3's have caught our field, which is 4 minutes back. Much silliness ensues, we hit the bottom of the climb and a few guys who have escaped the mixed field nonsense catch us around 5 miles from the top. I finish around 10th with a big bruise and chips out of my ankle from the 100 or so times my foot came off the pedal. No idea on time gaps.
Oh. Well.

I'm surprised the 3s caught you guys, didn't you catch and pass the 3s last year?

omfg that sucks! Great job getting 10th though, holy crap! You gotta love the attitude though:
Situation 387: Asshat nearly takes me out and my cleat breaks
Resolution: attack
Situation 388: Asshat nearly takes me out and a spoke breaks
Resolution: attack
Situation 389: Asshat nearly takes me out and I'm stuck in the big ring

Weather for Thursday wind From WSW 34 mph. The last Cat 3 climb will be into the wind. Should sort out the weak.

Ex, that's pretty awesome you still got top 10-ish with all that happened... even if it was at the start of a big stage race, talk about bad timing.
Damn.

Similar thing happened to me two years ago.. 10 miles in big flat straight road some yahoo skittles the front of the bunch...
Ate it pretty bad, serious road rash, broke two ribs .. off the back.. Finished the stage and the race.. hang in there.. it could have been way worse!

Results in, 10th overall, 3rd in the 50's. Did get one $30 sprint prime while I was off by myself. Tomorrow's going to be brutal, hope the legs show up. Thanks everybody for the encouragement, it's going to be "die trying" from here on out.

I gotta do this race next year.
Sadly, based on the guys I know I can climb with, I would have been like 70th today. But still, looks like fun

Reports are high winds with higher gusts today. Sounds strangely like an attack opportunity. Maybe I should look it up in the RX race manual and see what the options are

SRAM's man in the pit's status from facebook: "A New windy Day awaits the Sram NRS staff here at the Tour of the Gila!"
BTW - anyone know where I can see the 4's results? I've got a guy in the race with spotty to no cell coverage from his carrier.
