Been watching ebay for PowerTaps

I busted my main wheel and was in a panic about to buy another one while I wait for my main wheel to get rebuilt.

There seem to be a bunch of ~2007 wireless SL2.4 models going for under 700 bucks. These are still a notch ABOVE the modern day PRO+ (slightly below the modern SL+) and they are selling for < $700 including 32 spoke built wheels , computer, HR strap, downloader, skewers, even a front wheel, etc.

For those looking for excuses not to train with power, you're running out!!! 700 bucks is about as cheap as it gets I think. These would be great daily rider bomb proof training wheels. Wish I had bought one, but now my wheel is being rebuilt I have to be patient (and my central AC just broke) 2 week without a power meter and I feel like a lost dog...

Curious, why are they a notch above the modern PRO+ version? This is a serious question as I'm looking to sell my '08 PRO+.

Is it the weight?

I am not entirely sure BUT overall it is like 50 grams lighter than PRO+.

It has the carbon hub shell vs the alloy hubshell.

I am not positive, but believe they are otherwise quite similar.

I could be wrong, but isn't the 2007 sl2.4 the exact same thing as the current sl+ w/o ant+ which can be added for $100. So the difference between the older sl and the new pro+ is essentially the same as the difference between the current sl+ and the pro+
