Are there any weekly crits in San Diego going on then? I'll be in town and would love to mix it up with some of the locals.

Thursday there is Fiesta Island worlds. Its not a race, but a pretty hard hammer fest group ride, lot like a crit. There's a practice crit at lego land in carlsbad, and another crit in Irivine.

Also check out the Wednesday Ride. Be warned that the season is essentially over the last weekend of August. Don't be surprised if the fields are pretty small for most of the rides.

Mini-hijack. What about this weekend? I'll be in SD from Thurs morning until Monday afternoon. It looks like there's a crit in san clemente on sunday. Anything else?
Thanks,

It's a brand new course, but it looks pretty cool. I think it has a bit of a hill. Based on the last couple of weekends the field sizes will be a little small. Probably ~40 for the Cat 3s and ~60-70 for the Cat 4s.

Also, where in SD? I'd suggest Swami's on Saturday morning. It's very hard but lots of fun.

San Clemente Crit is a big maybe. It's a lot of effort to race on a bike that's 2 sizes too small for 75 minutes. If anybody is already going and wants to let me borrow a 60cm bike for the P12 race, that'd be pretty cool.... Bonus points if they're driving up from san diego and want some gas money.
I'll be staying with family in Rancho Bernardo.
I think the Swami's ride is a go. Look for a guy on a (borrowed) litespeed with wings tattooed on his legs.
