25 mile 1:17
As a junior cyclist (14years old) with some decent road gear (road bike- 23 pounds, SPD shoes, and nice pedals) I just did a 25mile ride with moderate hills and a little head wind in 1hour and 17 minutes. I thought this was pretty good, and comments or tips? I was definately at my AT when I was done!
Gear:

Shoes: https://www.giantnerd.com/shimano-sh-...oes-men-s.html
Also, why do professional riders (Schleck, Contador, and almost all others) buy their bikes sized for riders 5'5-5'7 when they are taller and put their seat up high?

Good on you! They get smaller bikes because they are smaller. However, since they are smaller and they are taller, they need to have the seatpost high.

Good job, but it's hard to compare times when courses and conditions vary so much. Keep track of your times on that course and it'll be a good measure of how your training is working.
Pros want to have a very aggressive aerodynamic position on their bikes with a big drop from the level of their seat to the handlebar. That calls for a somewhat smaller frame than most of us would find comfortable.

also a junior cyclist (15 yrs old), tend to average about 20 mph on this type of stuff. What do you mean by 'moderate hills'? Also, what are you using to obtain distance?
