Interested in how much it's gonna cost. Very few details online. To guys that have done it before, does racing the same course 3 times (RR, TT, RR again) get boring? How is the climbing? Do the road races generally end in a bunch sprint?

It was one of my favorite races last year. Parts of all three courses are the same, but each day has a very distinct feel and character.
The first stage is rolling with a few short, sharp climbs for ~2 hours total. Last year a break of 8 stayed away followed by a large bunch sprint. The second road race adds several longer climbs (not terribly steep) that do a more effective job of breaking up the field. We ended up with a group of about 25 that came to the line together. The TT is uphill, but still fast enough to benefit from a TT bike.

definitely considering it, as i grew up in vegas and know the area pretty well.
there was talk of having our winter camp in vegas next year but it looks like it's probably gonna be AZ again, but i'm still gonna try to see if i can muster up any team/regional interest.

The RR and TT share the climb out of the Marina but that's such a small part of the RR I don't think it really matters. Depending on how well you climb/tt, some people reported going up the climb faster in the race. My cat (3) only does one of the RRs so I can't comment on the extra RR stage, but the one that we did was pretty rolling that didn't really drop too many people but did lend itself to people breaking away. There seemed to always be some group off the front. Last year the winner in the cat 3 race broke away and went solo to the end maybe 5 miles away. The previous year in cat 4, I won with a 1K attack, so neither time was a bunch sprint for the win. Other races I saw finish all came in with small groups, no massive sprints that I saw.

Registration fee is $75-$135 (Cat 5-1/Pro). They're posted on the site.
As stated, the TT (~3 miles) is the only common section of course unless you are racing in one of the categories with a star stage. Even then, the star stage course shares only about ~20 miles with the regular RR course so it has ~35 miles that aren't in the RR course, and the RR course has ~65 miles that aren't in the star stage. All of it is great and better than the other stage races I did last year.
The Cat 5 field split up a bit as well, but there was a decent group at the end for a sprint.

Awesome race. I had a blast last year even though i didn't stay in a house boat. This year i'm going to try and rally enough teammates to stay in the houseboat.

I'm planning on going but the wife is not interested in sleeping in a boat. Any recommendations for nearby hotels? I guess the priority list looks like:
1. Close
2. Cheap
3. Kitchen
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Sunset Station in Henderson. There is also a Hampton Inn in Henderson that is clean and quiet. There are a ton of restaurants in Henderson and the Sunset or Hampton are only about 15-25min to the staging area (as close as you can get via a hotel). A few of the little hotels in Boulder City are nice and clean and BC is super clean, cool little town. DO NOT stay on or near Boulder Hwy (which you go over to go out to where the SR is). It is rough and unless you want a good stabbing, or to pick up some meth, I would stay far away.
There might be some SMOKIN deals at Lake Las Vegas which is beautiful. That would be the most convenient but the hotels tend to be higher end. It is worth a check. You actually race by the back side of the lake community at one point during the road race.
Don't know about kitchens in any of them though
Good luck and have a blast.
Yeah, pretty booked couple months for me stage race wise with VOS, Callville, Tour of the Depot, San Dimas, and Cyclovet all with in weeks of each other.

Does anyone have any maps with elevation for this race? The links on their site to MapMyRide are set to "private" so I can't see them.
Also, would staying in Vegas be out of the question (I have family that lives there)? It looks like about 1hr drive to the staging area. Would that be accurate?

Depends where you are in Vegas. That is like asking, I am staying in L.A. is that close to Disney Land.
Anything in south east Vegas or north east Vegas will be decently close and easy to get there.
Callville is not a climbers race. It is definitely a race of attrition. There really is no flat. It is constant rollers the whole day and it just wears on you. The TT is the best way to get yourself into position to win if you can hang on in the RR. There is a time bonus in the crit so be aware.
