Yup, that's the helmet. The reason they did not sell in the USA prior to this year was the very reason you mention, but it was USA legal when they commenced selling them. They might have run into some unattractive potential liability issues. I assume that's you on the track. Is that the Mavic 5 spoke wheel on the front? One of my teammates runs one and much to my surprise it showed slower than the HED3 in the wind tunnel at Texas A&M yesterday. John Cobb was running the tests.
Yes, that is a Mavic Io front and Mavic Comete rear, which seems to be the standard to which all others are compared as far as track goes.
I hear the HED3 is a bit flexy on the track, especially under the bigger/faster guys pulling more Gs. I've never ridden the HED3 or Mavic Io. I use Zipp 808s front/rear or 808 front/900 rear. I'm not big on the research. I've read where Andy Coggan posted that:
Based on tests we did on ADT, from an aerodynamic perspective an iO is no better (but also no worse) than a much less expensive Zipp 808.

Nate, it never even remotely occurred to me that mentioning the results of the wheel test would be even a minor issue. Results were already posted on FB by Neville who was one of the people tested. Ken is the most laid back human being I have ever met and as you saw, he and his wife Cindy (now a world champion thanks to you guys), is also a sweetheart. I'll PM you.

Sweet looking bike! I'm not sure what tests were involved, but the teammate I alluded to switched to the Mavic indicating that it was now the fastest front wheel. I'd love to see where the Zipp 1080 plays into the scene in that on HED's own website, they show that wheel to be faster than their own at most yaw angles. I currently race the Zipp 999 set (808/standard disk), and have managed to set 5 TT records with them, but it's time to look around and I am looking at bikes and wheels currently.

Coggan's tests at ADT are only applicable for indoor velodromes or days with no wind BTW.

Cool, I wonder if you know my son, Chris Scott? He is a fairly new cyclist but competed last season (or maybe the season before) and won the prize for first Cat 4. I think he has been too busy this year, but I know he hopes to find time to get back out there. I, unfortunately, would probably kill myself out there with my marginal bike handling skills. Locally, we have Earl Henry who is a world champion and past world record holder track guy. Earl has competed at Frisco. Earl's thighs are bigger than my chest.

It looks like a super facility - when I was visiting him in Dallas last, we stopped by there so he could show me the place. I like going there just to go to Richardson Bike Mart - the ultimate toy store for the dedicated cyclist!

I've been competing and training at the Frisco Superdrome for the past 5 years. I'm 64 and compete as a master, although I occasionally enter Cat 3 races. This year we had master's nationals here. The Superdrome was completely resurfaced a year ago, and is now in fantastic condition.
