anyone tried the LG vorTTICE TT helmet

I believe it is still not technically available to the masses at least in Canada

I'm hoping to get a TT helmet next year and was told by my LBS that the LG rep said to hold off cause they're coming out with a new amazing helmet that had greast wind tunnel tests.

TT events are not my specialty and I really only do them as part of a stage race or if my gf drags me to one, but it would still be nice to have a solid helmet to get more aero

I feel like the marginal gains between the LG and any current Aero helmet will be small enough that you shouldn't be too concerned

the issue with the helmet I was looking at is it lacks a visor (it was on clear outs). I was told I'll be albe to get the new model ith a visor for about the same price if I can hold on

You should stop feeling. Some wind tunnel tests have shown 30+ seconds between helmets.

Agreed! I had a limited range of aero helmets I could test (at the time there were only a few Australian Standards approved aero helmets) and I gained a 10 Watt savings with one aero helmet over the other aero helmet. The two helmets were a Limar Speed Demon and a Limar Crono 5; I'll let you guess which is better.

As for visors or not, do a search on sciencedirect.com using “aerodynamics helmet”. You hopefully will find the following study “The wind-averaged aerodynamic drag of competitive time trial cycling helmets” by Len Brownliea*, Peter Ostafichukb, Erik Tewsc, Hil Mullerc, Eamon Briggsc and Kevin Franksc. Although they don’t mention what helmets the visors are attached to, there are drag values for a couple of helmets without the visor, with sunglasses and with visors. The visor didn’t come across as beneficial; in fact it performed worse when comparing the Wind Averaged Drag.

I know, just wanting to show that a visor isn't always the fastest option.

What works for one person doesn't necessarily work as the best option for someone else either.

thanks for all the info

I was aware there is not a single best helmet and that one helmet might be awesome for rider X but slower for rider Y

I just want to try and find something that is A comfortable.. and B aero... and I'm a technology enthusiast so I like trying new tech out

also need to get some clip-ons and practice and find a good position
