Must do races

What are some of the must do races state side? Or for some of us, the races to put on the wish list.

State side? What is this state you speak of?

Do you mean counties? Or provinces? Or do you mean 'state' as in nation state.

Langkowi is a race I never did but really wanted to. That would be high on my list.

I did the Tour of Okinawa twice and that was pretty cool. I'd add it otherwise.

I wish I could have done Quatar but it really came into its own as a race long after I would have been able.

Racing the Tour of South China Seas was awesome. Having people 5 deep at the barricades clamoring for an autograph is a boost to the legs even if it was only because I was a white face. I'd add that for those who haven't been there.

I need to think about some more...

Is that what you mean by 'state side'? Explain.

I apologize for not making the point of the thread clear. I was meaning to say, what are some good must do races in the US. The giro comment was my pathetic attempt at sarcasm, and for that I give myself a

Athens Twilight. But it's probably better to be a spectator, I've got three friends that broke bikes in that race.

My list is probably not like other people's.

You might specify what kinds of races you're interested in.

I'm going to give a go at the qualifier this year. My ridding buddy raced last year and loved.

Anniston is another biggie for the SE.

Don't try to eat at altitude. I got tunnel vision and it took forever for my breathing to catch up.

Thanks for the advice!! I plan on trying to do a few rides ( if possible - weather permitting ) before the race as I've never ridden higher than 10,500.

I'll be there cheering you on. Actually I'll be cheering the Gutt on, but I'll still be one of the rabid spectators shouting at the top of my lungs.
