******. Just ******. You're one tough cookie.
Also, it's no wonder people have trouble losing weight. On the calorie website I'm on, it lists 2.5 hours of 14-16 mph cycling as 2400 calories. I averaged 15 today and my Powertap said 1250.

I was going to be all kudos and stuff then I realized, waitaminute, the cast isn't molded to a NACA profile with a notch for the bars in the IAB position (or better yet so you can hold a Superman IAB position.
Man oh man. Hardcore. Holy smokes.

rode and finished the nj state itt. left the start house in a cast and the leader's jersey for the state points series in the 45+.
It was hard both physically and emotionally. physically because it's a TT, but also my body was compensating for the busted wing and I had all kinds of muscles cramp and seize up.I had to switch positions quite a bit, even standing on occasion. Most comfortable tended to be with the cast in the invisible aero position.
It was emotionally challenging because my year is over.in the big picture it's smallpotatoes, but I work and play hard and this was shaping up to be a great year on the bike. I wept around mile 15 and again and the finish. It was draining to let it all go. It took everything I had to finish. I was not last.
For anyone who questioned the sanity of said endeavor; every person that passed me said something encouraging. It'll be 9 months until I race my bike again. This will be my lasting memory of the season now, and not the back of an ambulance.

Get fixed up...Rest and recover...The rest will take care of itself...most important things is to stay positive and keep moving forward...
Good luck!

just back from a company recreation/party trip over the weekend in Kernville, CA by lake Isabella.
on sat morning 4 of us rode the cannell plunge. our shuttle van broke down at about 6500' feet, but most of us decided to spin up the road to 9200' for the trailhead.
the trail dumped us out about 1.5 miles from Kern Brewing, where we met up with other co-workers for food and brew. I was dirty, itchy, sticky and my limbs were all cut up. Epic.
at night we drank lots of beer and us younger ones stayed up pretty late engaging in debauchery of various sorts .
I haven't had a weekend this good in a long time. So awesome.

I applaud your courage and wish you the best in your recovery. Nine months will fly by like it was a week and before long we will be hearing of your stories of steak knives and Cadillacs

It's been pretty hot here recently - I've started freezing my bottles again before the P-Ride, which by the way, has been pretty fast lately.

not in the temperature, per se and more about the heat acclimation part. last time i rode in 85F weather (what i'm expecting at home in NC), my HR was in low threshold range for doing high Z2 stuff. Did a few rides in that condition, but it seems that all that heat acclimation's gonna be gone when i go back
