depends...

give it a try and see where you end up. Just sew across the holes, making sure not to get too close to the edge of the fabric so it doesn't pull out.

I'd wear it "as is" as a badge of honor.

You can definitely repair it. My mother-in-law repairs mine when I crash; she ends up patching the holes from the inside. If you simply sew the holes closed, you end up with a pinched spot in the cloth.

I've always sewn a patch over them. You can get material that is very similar to the material they make the jersey from.

I have two jersey's and two pairs of bibs that are still wearable after crashes. They are about golf ball size holes, so not overly attractive, but at the same time not overly noticeable. Usually if anyone notices they are impressed that I crashed and still finished whatever ride/race I was did, no need to tell them it was from months ago haha.

I've just worn mine. As others have said, you can sew a patch to the inside, or if the tear is small, just so it together.

I looked into Iron on patches, but was told they could damage the fabric or discolor it - apparently a lot of manufacturers use some sort of heat treatment to apply the color for team kits.
