What camera view would you want to see for a crit?
I will be taping this weekend's race and I'm curious as to which view you would like if you were to watch a 2-3 minute crit video. Kind of a weird quesiton but I'll only get one choice so I thought I'd pose it.
Here are some examples:
Helmet
Seatpost facing forward (obviously you wouldn't get shorts showing with spandex on)
Stem
I have also considered using the stem mount upside down but I fear my cables might interefere with the picture.
Other?
I know 2 of these vids are mountain but they are what I have so deal with it.
PS - i tried to do a poll but the server was slow as molasses. Sorry

I've heard people state every preference so it's really what you want to see. I like under handlebar (forward) and under saddle (backwards) mounts (video below). I don't like the amount of bounce I get from the saddle camera but I don't have a solution for that. I'm still experimenting with mounts. GL

Unless you don't like the weight of the camera on your helmet - helmet cam all the way. It shows us where you're looking, not just where the bike is going. Try to add subtitles like CDR does, narration is always good.

No worries. It's going to be a whole little recap of the day so there's only likely to be a minute or so of race footage. The Go Pro is heavy on a road helmet (unless I race in my mountain bike helmet). It is an option thought.

I use my Go Pro mounted to the bars and hanging under the stem. I flip the image. Works great and allows you to see the action.

There is huge potential in hexacopter mounted cameras in "follow-me" mode, especially as a supplement to one on the helmet or bike:

None of them - concentrate on the race instead of recording it..
That said, if I had to choose I'd go with helmet cam, assuming it's aimed correctly.

Thanks! I'm not a real contender but I make good pack fodder. I won't be trying anything dumb since like many others I have to go to work the next day to pay the bills.

Helmet cams can be potentially dangerous. Hitting it at the wrong angle and it could likely just go straight through your helmet to your noggin.
I usually do under the handle bars
