Bay Area Fitter Recommendations

Hi all.

My doctor seems to think I have a cartilage tear in my knee... but wants me to try a fitter before we start carving. Any recommendations?

Thanks...

i'm amazed that this has gone unanswered for so long.

There's a guy named Ashley, goes by Ash, who works at Pacific Bikes just next to the whole foods downtown. I've never been fitted by him. I used to work at a bike shop with him, and people who came into the shop thought he was awesome.

That's all I got.

Thanks! I had given up on this thread, to be honest, just noticed it now. Will look him up.

Wade at the Spokesman in Santa Cruz. He did my first fit, years ago. There's gotta be more recent 411, though.

Where in the Bay are you looking? Maybe a rough "w/in X miles from Y city..."

Sorry about non-fitter comment: Unless you meant "says" when you wrote "seems to think," I would request firmly an MRI, as it would help confirm a cartilage tear.

Within a 2 hour drive from San Jose. Say 100 miles or so.

Perhaps I misunderstood what he said about 'cartilage tear', or put words in his mouth.

One thing I *know* I understood, though - he said that he didn't feel an MRI would gain us any knowledge. He said that 'I could get one', basically if it made me feel better.

I'm being patient about this right now. I'll see how patient I feel in a month or so, when I'll probably be back in his office.

I had good luck at the Bicycle Trip in Santa Cruz. They are a Retul fitter and Aaron is a easy going guy.
