New team but not on USAC license/team roster - Register unattached?

I recently joined a nearby Masters team. It's not listed on my USAC license nor am I listed on the team roster for USAC. I think this will all be completed at the beginning of next year.

Do I still register for races as 'unattached' or can I list the team when I register? Also, I don't have my kit yet. Can I race in a blank kit? Or can I race in my Tri team kit (small logo across the chest, otherwise blank)? Sleeveless is legal this year so I'm thinking the Tri kit would be fastest. I have a skin suit on order but it won't arrive in time for the ITT (it was free from my Tri team but will also be blank).

I'm just a Cat 5 and don't think it's a big deal, but I'm wondering what is the 'proper' thing to do?

I would go online, pay the $15 to change teams at USAC, and print an auth to ride. Then register attached.

Is sleeveless legal for road races and crits or just time trials? It seems pretty unlikely that anyone would hassle a 5 over it, but i thought it was just tt's.

Thanks for the replies. What's the process for changing my registration? Can I just change it on USAC and thats it? Or does the team need to do something too?

Go to the 'My USACycling' page on their website, and go to your license info. Then choose 'Reissue my license.' When you go through that, you'll be able to select/update a team. After you pay the $15, you can print a new authorization to ride, and you'll get a new license in the mail in about a week.
