The day I dropped Team Garmin.

So today is 3 weeks since the crash that threw a nice wrench into my season. I've been riding outside since Wednesday, and it's been up and down. OK followed by OK followed by horrible followed by OK.

Trying to get a handle on what might be possible down the road, I figured I'd give the GMR climb a shot. Idea was to just ride tempo, somewhere around 250w for the most part. With losing 25 points off my CTL and laying mostly in bed since the crash, I figured that was a decent goal. Hit the summit and it was mission accomplished.

Decided to continue up and over to the ridge road. 15 or so minutes later two guys in matching Garmin kits riding Cervelos pass me going the other way. 5 minutes later I get tired of riding into the headwind and turn back to the car.

I can see the Garmin boys well up the road. Now I know they are pros because they are wearing matching 2012 Garmin kits and are riding decked out Cervelos. I'm chasing and this annoying Phil and Paul dialogue keeps popping into my brain. I know it's Phil and Paul because one voice keeps mis-identifying the guys up the road as Sky riders and he keeps calling me Sean Kelly instead of Jens. The other guy keeps correcting him but he doesn't get it.

Very realistic.

Eventually I catch the Garmin boys and sit on for a minute, then come past.

A quick peek under my arm and I see the wheel following. Road starts to turn up and I figure I'd drope the hamer and turn the SRM up to 350 Megawatts. No more wheel.

I'm guessing I'll be hearing from JV pretty soon here.

BTW BMC seems to have become the new Discovery. Lots of red and black out there today.

what did you expect?

unless they have been racing, there is no way they could match your speed.

Take it up to 425w for about 15 minutes and let them know you are going to do that before you give it a go. See if they decide to play along for fun.

DROPING. Once the act is completed it's dropped.

"Only guy in the picture" baby.

I wonder if he's still hunting prey on the MUP's.

Sean hasn't been on many of the recent races, so it's been better.
I finally watched Milan Sanremo and he seemed a bit more coherant this time.
