For those who care...
Age - 45
Weight - 137lbs
Height - 5'-9"
Resting HR - high 50's
Threshold - 170
Max - 190 (That's what I've seen)
The thing I notice is that as the years go on and I get more fit my BP is dropping like a stone high BP runs in the family and the last few times I've checked it it's been in the 115/70 range...

I wish. I've hardly gotten to explore since I moved here about a month ago. Hoping to get more situated and able to start rides from places other than my house (or races in other states) at some point.

With that said, I've had every test done under the sun by a cardiologist to investigate weird symptoms. I have an irregular heartbeat. What does that mean? They don't know, they have no history when I was 15yrs old. Maybe I was born with it? Or something that developed recently...shrug...no answers. Ok...my heart beats funny, it was a clinical finding compared to the population at large.
Arteries are clean, tested those. Slight valve prolapse, that magically disappeared the next year. Blah blah blah.

jwible - doesn't sound like anything abnormal to me except you naturally have a higher max heart rate than most your age. But like has already been said, go get it checked out if it helps you sleep better.

Height: 5'11"
Weight: 170 +/ -5
Resting: 60
Max: 200 this year so far. Last year was 206 (didn't have to do... I am going to gag myself kind of effort this year)
LTHR 186
Seems like most of my endurance ride happens around 140-160 BPM (I just keep an eye on power and HR is there to supplement for my aerobic decoupling).

Are any of you guys that are having issues on medication? Multiple medications even?
Might be helpful to double check that it couldn't be side effects from those, or interactions or something. If you're seeing your doc, then you might as well ask.

Get your thyroid checked .You could have hyperthyroid disease. Before I was treated for my thyroid disease my resting was 70-80 and I would redline at the drop of a hat

Resting HR the other night at 3AM was 58.
Also experiencing near syncope. Not unusual for people in good shape from what I read, and mine is probably caused by lowered blood volume post ride, but it is another check box on the 'hmmm' side of the column. Near black out when standing is pretty common for me a few hours post ride.

I'm on loads of meds for arthritis. Diclofenac for anti-inflammatory and sulfasalazine for ... well, whatever that stuff does besdie dehydrate me and turn my sweat orange is a mystery. Seems to work though. None of them have should have much effect on HR though my blood pressure is creeping a little higher every year as a side effect of long term NSAID use.
Might have to up the dose on one or the other if this flare up doesn't simmer soon
