Green Mountain Stage Race unsupported?

Good or bad idea? Is it too much for going it alone?

That was the plan pretty much. Mostly just wavering between one or two extra bottles and the fact that I'm not much of a climber.

The majority of weekend warriors are "unsupported".
That's what pockets are for.

i think they should make the whole thing unsupported, i.e. close the feed zones for all stages. we've got guys throwing bottles on the ground outside of the feed zone on a 60 mile flat stage that takes less than 3 hours to complete. also cat3s still can't figure out how to get a bottle while moving .

I should be there in the 3s... usually 1 bottle in my pocket depending on how long the hill stage ends up being. 09 was a 78 miles, last year was 67.

Random ***holes with nothing useful to add gets a little annoying.

Relax dude...It ain't rocket science...I'm in Catskills right now, it's going to be sunny, hot and humid...I'm unsupported and so is my wife, we have pockets and spare bottles to carry ourselves...We bring our cell phones, just in case, and race...

Some guy asked if hand-ups were allowed in one of my Masters crits today. Yeah, it was hot, but come on.

Beat a dead horse time. Did it unsupported, but the race provided bonk support or bonk! provided support? I'm not sure who did it but it was very cool. Except they ran out of water at the bottom of app gap. I'm not complaining at all, but I did learn that the combination of warm soda, power bar, and gels makes for a pretty gaseous mixture as I climb (slowly). Anyway again great of them to do it and overall they really put together a great race.
