should i lose muscle mass
I am 5'11 190lb. I want to race again should I lose muscle mass? I live in relatively flat land.
Or should I just maintain and always try and hang on for a sprint finish?

unless you're a body builder, at 5'11" and floating near 2 bills, you probably have a good deal of fat to loose before you're getting into muscle mass reduction.

The OP, like most husky folks, probably thinks his body fat is in the single digits and that he's nothing but solid muscle. Thus, if he wants to get skinny, he has to lose muscle.
Either face into the fact that you've got plenty of fat to lose, or go into track racing.

If a troll posts in a forum and no one responds, is it still a troll?

I have wondered this as well (6'0" 200) there is certainly fat to lose but sure as heck not enough to get me to what many of the skinnier guys are at. If a target of 150 or even 160 was in place some muscle would need to be lost on me (and I assume the OP as well if he is a similar build). I live in a flat area as well. Most of the riders are bigger. I guess this would sort itself out in a hilly area, but here if your fitness is good the extra muscle actually seems to help with the flat races.
I know cdr has preached the "lose the fat then focus on racing" motto, I was wondering what he did to lose muscle when he lost weight.
