Hey Grolby, I've got you beat.

I just got a $900 bill from my Primary Care Physician for my annual physical in March 2012. And here's the best part - I had TWO health insurance plans at the time.

They billed my secondary insurance, which paid the bill. Then in October of this year, the insurance company pulled the money back, saying I had other insurance. So the doctor billed my primary insurance company, which responded with, "Sorry, you didn't bill us in the 18 month window you are allowed to bill us, so we aren't paying it."

Oh, and I should mention, both my primary and my secondary insurance plans were the same company.

The doctor is trying to work things out with the insurer. If it doesn't work out, I think I'll be filing a claim against both my insurance plans in small claims court.

(Why do I have two insurance plans? Well, near the end of 2011, my employer was coming up with all sorts of crazy ideas for how to cut costs on insurance. I didn't like any of them, so I switched to my wife's insurance plan and declined insurance through my employer. Also, at the time, I was trying to find a new job.

At the beginning of 2012, I changed jobs, and my new employer offers free basic insurance to all employees and you cannot decline it. So, I ended up with two plans. At the end of 2012, I dropped off my wife's insurance.)

Going to work today after a week off. Rode the bike 8 of the last 10 days finishing with a somewhat hilly century yesterday.
A fixed gear rider crashed on a steep, twisty descent and slid under the guard rail. He was just behind me and it sounded horrible, but he got up and, after working on the bike for 45 min., was able to wobble to the coast where he got picked up.
I got home at 4 and tried to eat everything in the house.

Been there. Mine lasted about 2 or 3 weeks. It just kind of went silent one morning. Waited a week or so, went to a hearing doc, they did some tests, said my hearing was about half or less in my left ear than my right, but still barely above being considered "ok hearing" or something. One day it just suddenly came back.

They said it's some brain thing. Your brain just decides not to listen to that ear for a little while, some nerve something or other, science, blah blah, and then eventually it should just come back on its own.

It's annoying, but hopefully it'll just come back.

Or you might just have a sinus infection.

Damn, bro. That's insane. Good luck. My case SHOULD be more straightforward. I'm annoyed with myself because I forgot to bring the actual bill with me to work, so I won't be able to give specific numbers for the claim. But they oughta be able to figure it out. Anytime you're contemplating going to court, even small claims, you know things have gone pretty pear-shaped.

Tell me about it. I'm actually almost grateful that I'm still not allowed to ride on a day like today. Of course, I got sprayed by a car driving by on the way to the bus stop this morning. Ugh.

Mine's a bit more rudimentary... It's wax build up. Been a problem I've had since a kid. There's a few home remedies that help, but eventually it just get plugged and it's time to visit the doctor. My old doctor would just pull out a big ass syringe and flush the ears out. Not sure if my new doc will do that or refer me to an ENT specialist. Hopefully he does it himself so it's taken care of quicker.

The best is going to be after I'll be constantly turning the music\TV down and asking people to be quiet...

this happens to me sometimes too as my ear channels are narrow... same deal with water in the ear, too.

I've had the same thing happen. What they dig out of there is really gross. One time I think whatever came out had a tail. It might have been a mouse at some point. Anyway, it sure feels better when it's gone.

y'all know you can buy OTC at any drugstore the same wax softener and irrigation tools the doctor will use on you to clear your own gross ear wax.

I know because scuba in Hawaii the pressure did something and pushed the wax in, deafening me for a day. I cleared a wax plug the size of the last joint on my pinky finger from somewhere deep within. Just about puked.

on an unrelated note, I'm looking to pick up some more track gear in particular: a 172.5 crank, Dura Ace or comparable. Anyone have anything they'd be willing to part with?
170 omnium? Don't really think that checks your boxes.

Mine barks to scare them away. Doorbells too. Perhaps she's doping as well? Does doping make your farts clear a room?

They had probably the simplest robot out there, but the design completed several missions with only one (planned) pit stop. The judging rubric turned out to heavily favor fully autonomous robots, not just completion of tasks. Hitting it out of the park would be starting the robot, and never touching it again. Next year.

In other news, they got advanced to the regional championships in March. Super surprised! Very proud of them. Unfortunately, it's on the first day of spring brake, and us two coaches are both heading out of town that day. I think any girls still in town could run the robot themselves and probably still get full points. They're also independent enough on it that they don't need me at all for the competition. All the judging was done without me in the room, and I could only watch the robot challenge. So... still a chance
@waterrockets, that is very cool! Girls + Science = Big Win!

Yeah, the video they kept wanting to see for inspiration (well, to copy) was this well-done bot. Everything on the table that moves is done right and earning points:
