Wheels, the rest we donate to our nieces and nephews (which in no way are they grateful for).

It's so nice to have the family whole again, even if it's just for a little while.

Grabbed this off of Craigslist for $500. If I don't like cross racing or commuting, its not a major loss. It'll also be my nephew's bike when he's over.

My wife actually green lighted me to buy a new cross bike, but I need a new road bike, and don't want to hear the 'but you just spent $xxx on a bike'...

Got my new helmet with crash replacement. Originally $65, only $39 because I was lucky enough to crack my old one haha.

I was reading the list of warnings:
This helmet is not intended for racing downhill at high speeds.
The shell can melt in temperatures over 110 F.

Good thing I'm not in Arizona anymore lol

are compact drop bars chappy-approvedTM if a generally round shape? is it only the bars with a kink in the drops that do not get the seal?

No, you give yourself far too much credit. The soup nazi was concerned who enjoyed HIS soup. This has absolutely nothing to do with you at all.

Gah. Just realized I left my training wheels in the pit on Saturday. Just emailed the race director. Hopefully, they have them at the shop. In the meantime I am heading out for a training ride on tubulars. Wish me luck.

That sucks - I came really close to doing the same thing at Folsom!

Hope the tubular ride went ok.

I put a wheel bag on the driver's seat as a reminder.

Today our club president organized his birthday ride, a 120 mile affair with some climbing. He got some of the regulars, along with a contingent from another more race-oriented club but since I have been sick (again) I was only out for half of the ride and found some others who needed to get home.
I did ok until the pace quickened on the climbs around mile 25. I'm used to getting dropped but this was embarassing. Anyway, 2 of the women shepherded me back to my car so that part wasn't so bad.

Help.

I'm looking for an article that has a list of rider positions and equipment and wattage required to move said position/bike along at some speed (40 kph?). It starts with the rider on the hoods or something like that and ends with the rider on a TT bike, aero helmet, skin suit, aero wheels, etc. I'm pretty sure the range of power is from over 400w to well under 300w (270w?). I studied the thing and actually contemplated doing a TT but then sort of forgot about it. I'd like to reference it in a post I'm working on.

Also there's something like that with a US TT rider, I think it was Colby Pearce, but I can't find that one either. It had a number of equipment changes and resulting drag. He's the US hour record holder and did it mainly because he could really tune his position. He put down something like 310 watts to capture the record so it's not like he was doing a 400w hour.

Thanks in advance.
