Skipped training to deal with a UCI international idiot that jumped into the 3-4 race, pulled his buddies to the front while over the yellow line. No remorse. Contacted his team director to point out what he did.

Some comments about it here (none of them mine):

Had a rough night sleeping last night. Was super hot and just could not get to sleep. Shrugged it off this morning. About an hour before lunch my stomach starts hurting. I get to lunch and I just cannot put food down. I end up eating only about half my food (which like, never happens). I forced down as much as I could bc I knew I had a hard ride tonight and needed food. Fast forward 3 hours. Puking in toilet. Chills. Awesome. Guess I picked up a stomach bug.

One of those ****ty 24 hour periods...

Started with the results of some blood work, certain hormones are off the chart low and there's no TUE for them. That might explain why I've been feeling like ass for the past two months.

Then some miserable times at work with an irate person who is getting let go because of sexual harassment charges. He doesn't work for me, or with me, but he's making my life miserable due to forensics we have to do to clean it up.

And one or two other things. Such as having to have the wax ring in our toilet replaced, so I can't even take a dump in my own bathroom right now.

Whelp think the bug has already passed. Feeling extremely better after hours of on/off vomiting and severe stomach pain. Just super tired now. Unfortunately I have to take short days because of real life stuff on Thurs/Fri so I think this week is pretty much a bust training wise. Unfortunate because I had a super super easy week last week to get in a hard training block. Oh well, we'll see what the coach says, still a month to go to my next races.

Dehydration Pool.

I still haven't even really poked around this forum. I feel like I'm outclassed by people who have money to bring to cycling. I ride a measly 36 miles a week and my bike is just a small commuter...

I'm drunk.

Hung out with a guy whose fiance is also from the war and they both have ptsd and issues with alcohol. I just find myself thinking of the population in the world where that is just called daily life....

Anyone else find it amazing how much weight you lose overnight?

I've become pretty addicted with weighing myself - I particularly enjoying weighing myself before and after I take a dump just so I can holler the difference down to my wife. She does not find it as entertaining as I do. But I often weigh myself before going to bed and when I wake up. It's not uncommon to weigh 2-3 pounds less each morning.

I assume a lot of that weight loss is due to the fact that I have to get up to pee like four times a night.

Gives the concept of being anal a whole new slant.

My weight moves around a couple of kilos in 24 hours. After breakfast I typically weigh more than 1k more than I do when getting up. Rehydration.

kwaki is canadian so we know his body is "different"

Ill try to summarize here-

"maximizing skeletal muscle protein synthesis requires approximately ~15g of an essential amino acids(1).[SUP]"

"It has been postulated that the amino acid leucine is responsible for the stimulatory effect of dietary protein on protein synthesis and 15g of essential amino acids would contain 3.2g of leucine.(2)"

I am a big fan of Dr. Layne Norton. The thought process here is that your body will be able to absorb any amount of protein otherwise we would have diarrhea after each meal. So the question becomes, how much can our body utilize and how much is going to waste.
Keep in mind however that food science in general is far from factual with little to no double blind placebo testing available. Protein synthesis is a bit more concrete in my opinion.

Here is a nice chart with individual being 155-165lbs (2)

(1) Amino acid ingestion improves muscle protein synthesis in the young and elderly.
Am J Physiol Endocrinol Metab. 2004 Mar;286(3):E321-8.
(2) Leucine regulates translation initiation of protein synthesis in skeletal muscle after exercise. J Nutr. 2006 Feb;136(2):533S-537S.[/SUP]
