Thy story implies that there's some reason the motorcycles are acting the way they are in the start of the clip, but that's still being investigated. Guy should have stayed on the highway, and been on the phone with the police. Don't stop. Motorcyclists were fine to follow, but also should have been on the phone to the police. Obviously some party instigated things. It'll be interesting to learn the full story here, if we ever do.

heading to see the doctor and get some x-rays in 45 minutes. i was trying to be optimistic for the past week and think i'd emerged basically unscathed from getting hit by a car, but as of this morning my gut is telling me that i've actually got some material damage. feeling a bit unsettled at the moment. hope i am wrong.

not so random, my every thought is about this pulsing lighthouse of itchiness that is my leg.
don't complain if you click, it's a picture of the ever-increasing radius of my thigh. finally I can complain that the thigh on my pants is tight.

When I ended up in the ER with anaphylaxis from a bee sting a few years ago, the doc explained that with allergic reactions to toxins, instead of building up a resistance you typically build up a sensitivity. You finally reach a tipping point where your body overreacts and goes into anaphylaxis. He asked me to recall the previous time I'd been stung, and it was stepping on a bee in our yard. Instead of a little localized swelling and itching, my whole foot and lower leg swelled. Just like your thigh.
So, be aware that you may have reached your tipping point. Might be worth seeing an MD about it and asking for an Epi-Pen prescription.

Get the pen. I think Caloso is right, you will most likely need it next time.

Hmm.
Do you carry a pen with you when you ride? Seems cumbersome.

It didn't seem like an emergency at all. Took 12 hours for the swelling to develop. I rode almost 3 hours home after being stung with only a little pain. It does sure suck now, though. Better safe than sorry.

I expect my next bee sting to turn out like yours. I'll consider a pen then. I do ride with an inhaler though, always.

when I was a kid, I used to play with bees all the time. And when I say play, I mean capture them in my palm, take them by the wings, and pull off their limbs. It's amazing to me how I never got stun until this one time, randomly, out of nowhere. Man it hurt.

And yes, I now ride with an Epi-Pen every ride. It's 6 inches long and weighs less than a cell phone.

If you get stung by a bee one of the first things you need to do is get the little stinger out. An efficient way to do this is to cut a fresh onion in half and rub it over the stinger, it will draw it out.
As a kid I was highly allergic to bee stings (almost died once, ended up in hospital in a bad way when I got stung on the thumb) - if the stinger stays in the swelling/pain will continue on.

-Lunch rides with waterrockets in southwest Austin... I'm actually out of town next week though, but I can hook you up
-Home Slice Pizza if it's not too busy (good luck)
-6th St.
yep
Hippies in Austin wear tie dyed chinos and/or bras, register as Democrats, and think fish tacos are vegan. I grew up in SF during the 60's and lived a block from Berzerkly for 10 years. I know hippies. Austin doesn't have hippies. They have slightly rebellious Methodists.

Highway pretty much jams up there. He went up the ramp to the GW bridge. Next stop cross bronx parking lot.
If the guy was at fault, he had it coming....means what exactly? Sounds like some pretty deep thinking there.

I have to say, if I'm in a running vehicle, and an angry mob is surrounding my car with my kids and wife inside, they have made a grave error in judgement, and are about to pay for it.
