And to think he used to kick my ass all over the place when we were in three man breaks with Gary Yates on our Tuesday night worlds rides.

Driver's education weekend at Roebling Road was a blast. Pretty fast track, at least the sweeper into the long front straight. Saw 140 mph there.
Lots of neat cars there; several GT3 RS's, a GT3 Cup car, and on the opposite end of the spectrum a 1960 Porsche Speedster.
Got bumped up a run group the second day. It was like going from a 4/5 race to the 3's; everbody a bit smoother and a bit more predictable.

Jealous! I turned my '05 STi into a track day car. Loved that thing. Seats, harnesses, roll bar, RA1s, double adjustable coilovers, brake cooling ducts, etc. Total beast on the track. I did the midwest tracks like Blackhawk, Autobahn and Putnum. So much fun and so expensive!

So true! Was getting less than 6 hours out of a set of DTC70s in the front - way too much money. Good choice on the Miata. That or an Elise would be the way I'd go if I did it again.

True story. Last time I went for a ride with him I crashed into a tree and popped a rib head out of socket in my spine.

I have yet to find any decent vids on Tour de San Luis. Man the commentary in this vid made me cringe...

My daughter's little experiment starts today.
Can you drop out of 12th grade and skip the first semester, then come back for the 2nd semester and graduate ? We shall see.

Took a closer look last night. Pretty beat up, with blisters blips, chunking. My guess is I used up 1/2 to 1/3rd of their useful life in a bit under 3 hours of track time.

Screwed up running some lookup codes last night by linking to a non-unique number. Came up with a bit of a work around last night, but now I'm scrambling to finish this analysis... I was here till past midnight last night.
It was a good weekend though. My little sister visited. That's always fun

Finances. I've started BikeReg stuff and raised prices $2 across the board, except the Cat 5s. Based on the 300-ish riders (remember I comp a good 30 riders a week for marshaling, sweeping, etc) I'm looking at paying for a second cop with that extra money, or paying a bit more for the head marshal (it's a W2 position, I pay that person), or making a payment or two on the trailer or the Expedition.
My team used to cover the costs for our team members in our races. But the local association raised its per rider fees, and that was really starting to hurt our bottom line. So we instituted a fee for our members as well. It's $5, which covers all of our per-rider fees: USAC Fees and Insurance and local association fees.
If you started doing something like that, and explained to your volunteers why you had to do it, I don't think you'd run into many problems.
whenever I do the rides, people claim I'm going too fast(I'm usually cruising Z2 at 200W). As soon as we hit a climb, they go around me in a mad dash to the top, blow up about halfway up and I cruise by them again at 200-250W. They get to the top and think I was hammering the whole time...
Maybe the ride isn't any slower, it's just that you've gotten stronger/faster, so that ride not feels slower?

With regards to the wife stuff, a co-worker recently told me she and her husband were separating. I feel bad for her, but it's probably for the best.
That said, I have no desire to try dating again. I wouldn't even know where to start.
