Marathon Monday here in Boston, and I'm at work! The best part: I live north of the route but work south of it, so I had to come in early before Beacon St. closed at 8:30, and I'm stuck down here until it opens up again at 5:45. It's a uniquely Boston experience, for sure.

52 miles Saturday in a group so it felt like a 30 mile solo ride. Slipped on a wet link on the bridge and got a bruise for my first fall. Oh well. Yesterday I rode 8 miles to go play sports and strava had some sort of glitch and it said I rode 46 miles with a top speed of 368mph. I emailed them to try and change my milage because I want to keep track of my milage this year. It was very odd. It showed my route then had a red line that jutted out to the west for 35+ miles.

At the race yesterday my wife ended up speaking to another spectator. Her brother was doing his first race, and was in the field with me. She told my wife he was terminally ill and just wanted to finish, because he's always wanted to do a bike race. Unfortunately, the guy pulled off after the third lap. I didn't know about it until after I left the area, but I felt pretty bad for him. The guy coudn't have been over 25.

And here I was thinking it was just a skin condition and too much silver nitrate all this time.

Finally got around to mounting 25c tires onto my new velocity A23 wheels and I must say I am impressed. First off mounting the tires was much easier so that give me a bit confidence for inevitable puncture. The ride quality is awesome. The wheels are nice and stiff, but the 25c tires soften the ride just the right amount, With the 23c tires the ride was pretty darn harsh. I'm happy with this setup and happy I made the move.

Congrats to her, hope she had a good day!
I work in biology research, and the work we do follows a pretty strict schedule. Even if we would like to take a day off, the cells we grow don't. So we have to go take care of them. I'm lucky enough as it is that we've managed to arrange the schedule so that we have a normal M-F work week.
Man, that is tough.

I don't actually race, just hang around with some of them at times. Mostly just do club rides in the mountains.
All for me.
A little ways up the road.
That peak in the distance is Mt Baldy. We are heading for the village at 4000 feet to eat cake.
That's me on the lower slope, 1000's of feet to go.

So a question for the tubular gurus in the 33. I have a 808 tubbie with a tire currently glued on. the glue job is rock solid, except for a small portion on the non skewer side near the valve stem. It's starting to detach a bit. Can i just add some glue, or do i have to take the tubbie off and re-glue?
