As are most things that make you feel awesome!
Pretty slow commute, 7 miles in about 35 minutes. Using a powertap wheel on it lol, maybe next week I'll record the ride and upload it to strava.
Yeah the rain won't be an issue for the brooks saddle here; even in Seattle when I was spending days on this saddle as a rando the rain somehow never really got to it.
It'll be a fast commuter! FYI, I found out the hard way that a Brooks saddle (Professional in my case) doesn't like rain...mine stretched out a bit after a couple of hours in it. Then again, you're in California, so it's probably not an issue.

I've been having thoughts of trying out the track... but the beginner sessions are Saturday mornings - always a race on Saturday mornings.
The only velodrome I've ridden is this one after consuming several beers at the Tour de Fat, a bike & beer festival put on by New Belgium Brewing:

Like many road riders, I find that my success is proportional to the distance of the event. I'm more likely to win a points race or final lap sprint in a scratch race if it is 50+ laps instead of 30.

Had breakfast/lunch at a local coffee shop/café and watched the pros for the Tour of California roll by team by team previewing the TT course for Monday. Pretty cool to see them all over town the last few days.

We just got back from a Q&A/autograph session with Cannondale at City Bike Works. My son and a bunch of his Juniors teammates were there and someone asked Sagan if he had any training advice for the Juniors. He said No, riding a bike should be fun so don't worry about training, just ride and have fun. When you get to be a teenager you can start worrying about "training."

there was a junior in my race with nat champ stripes. crushed him! almost literally. when I was falling into the pile he was close to getting squished.

I'm guessing this is NOT what a brake track is supposed to look like after just 1 weekend of racing? It was new friday. I used the new pads that came with the wheels... it had a graphite looking material covering the brake track, now I can see the carbon weaves.. is this normal??

Great finish at the Giro, had me out of my seat. Kittel on fire. Great commentary.
Very good finish at the TOC. Phil and Co. managed to impart the excitement of most golf announcers commenting on a guy sinking a knock in. And, once again, he got the winner wrong.

I'm guessing this is NOT what a brake track is supposed to look like after just 1 weekend of racing? It was new friday. I used the new pads that came with the wheels... it had a graphite looking material covering the brake track, now I can see the carbon weaves.. is this normal??
