thankfully specialized warrantied my frame. if anyone is in the market for a 49cm tarmac sl4 pro frameset, i'm going to let it go far below retail.
Van Dessels are very popular out here. Good choice.

I would go discs on the cross frame. It's mainstream now.

I personally ride discs on my cross bike and winter bike and would recommend that, especially for winter riding. On the other hand, not having discs is very handy and saves $ because you can swap wheels off your road bike, especially if you already have a pair of beater wheels you could use for winter commuting.

yeah honestly the only reason i'd go canti is for the wheel situation. that being said, i should be able to afford a second disc wheelset by the time winter rolls around, so I'll probably just do that.

i went to the bike shop and took a peak at the frame and it looks awesome (they're made by these guys: ZenBikeFab). i've wanted a us made frame for a while now, so I'm glad I took this opportunity to finally make it happen. cannot wait to get it built up and get back on the road.

That's a big enough crack you don't need it to be in focus.

Time for a new rim.
If you can get the same diameter & spoke holes, it's a pretty quick swap with the existing spokes.

A moment of silence, please...my Arundel Dual seat bag gave up the ghost yesterday. Three years of use, including numerous wet/dry cycles and two iterations of Rouge-Roubaix, were all it could take. The fabric on the bag gave where the strap was sewn on when I crossed a set of railroad tracks. I had the unusual foresight to buy another when I found it on sale, so I'm back in business.

Ugh. Our rental property in AZ had the AC go out recently, $1000 in repairs. Then I busted my collarbone and we will be paying thousands. Now I got another email from the property manager. Busted water pipe in the attic, ceilings falling out and flooding. Another $1500 deductible. I just hope the tenants can tolerate these issues so we don't have a vacant property on top of everything else.

I thought you'd narrowed it down to Lyme disease.

That was the thought a while back, but new & worsening symptoms that don't seem related. The infectious disease specialists are sure that she does not have Lyme now.
