We can start listing the guys old enough to be your dad who could kick your ass if you'd like. I'd suggest you just stop digging though.

Dammit I hate injuries I'm feeling so slow right now, having trouble holding over 200 watts for 20 mins whereas a month ago I was doing 240 and felt like I could have pushed that higher without too much trouble.

Going to try to do some SST today, then easy commuting tomorrow because my stress balance is trending sharply down after a hard week of catchup, then a long tempo ride on Saturday.

Another 7 weeks until I'm willing to risk group riding/mass-start racing again, hopefully I'll gain back some of the fitness by then.

This wind isn't helping my confidence either.

**** the master's race is on par or just a bit slower than the 1/2 race when the big boy masters show up. i like to poke fun at the old people, but in no way can u say they are slow with any type of seriousness in your tone.

Please, I'm a newly minted cat 3 and I could take shovel in a race any day of the week and twice on sunday*.

*assuming it's a swimming race.

Clearly new to the internet...Join Date 2010, you're not gonna make it to the masters by taking internetz so serious, I mean whats your resting heart rate while reading bikeforums? At one point I used to get a pretty good TSS while reading the Road Cycling forums, but lately its been hovering around 30 TSS for an hour. I don't know, I gotta work on that.

I decided to start racing at 61, and my first race was in 55+ Masters Open. I thought the pace would be more...gentlemanly, but instead I found myself riding with guys who had 30-40 years of experience at kicking ass. There I go, thinking again...

I've been dropped by a dude thats 61 in the hills of SoCal. Never in any kind of flats unless I was out of shape.

The best thing about cycling is you can still stay competitive and enjoy it most of your life

This guy was pretty inspiring when I first read about him

Robert Marchard, rode 100km, he's 100 years old...

For ****s and giggles go to USAC and get the ranking for Cat 1 in criterium for the entire country. Then take a look at the ages.
There is one in our parts (Ex knows who I am talking about) wears the rainbows on his sleeves and still races 1/2 at the age of 59.

just to clarify ui mean the masters race is slower to the 1/2 in terms of pure speed/power needed to stay in, but the winner of the masters race could mos tlikely win the 1/2 race. not saying the winner of the masters race is slower than the 1/2 field

I'm 17 and get crushed by everyone. I go to every race with "I'm going to get dropped because I suck" in my mind.
