Sorry, I was just saying that the absolute W were high enough that for a repeated max intensity that's 3-4x higher than jumps on other types of rides, for a total of 6-8 jumps (including the warmup), would be a good explanation. Relative to the sprints of others, the numbers are irrelevant, but the absolute amount indicates some higher joint stress.

Those are also maximums, not sustained. Nothing to see here...

That explains a little more. I find with any big power day (gym/bike) that the joints do feel a little sore afterwards.

That's what I hear. I ride my road bike on a lot of gravel/dirt trails in the marin headlands which is why this one blipped my radar. Gonna be hot, too.

Yeah I very rarely go over 13.5w/kg for sprints, especially not at the start of wri, which may explain why I don't get any pain from them.

3hrs with my wife and another Elite1/2 woman cruising the roads north of Dundas. Legs felt like bricks most of the ride. More endurance planned for tomorrow and then some rest!

Went out early to avoid the heat and got stung by a bee a few miles out. I'm allergic so I had to use my epi-pen, which is never comfortable but it beats a trip to the ER.

That's a very measured summary of what sounds like a much more animated situation. Yikes - epi-pen mid ride??

I hit something today that exploded on my stomach. All that was left was some green goo. It did manage to sting me before its' demise though, and that sting has blistered and now burns.

But I didn't need an epi-pen. That must be pretty frightening.

My best is 1400W @ 168lbs = 18.42 w/kg.
Lately I haven't been able to hit over 1350'ish.

Went and tried the FTP test today since I had yesterday off and I was feelin pretty good. Also there were suppose to be storms tonight so I needed to try and do something quick...No storms came(wtf).

Started off WAYYYYYYYYYYY too fast. I went pretty anaerobic for far too many portions in the first 12 mins. At 12mins I was at 315W average, 3 beats from max heart rate, and I could just tell I was going to blow up soon. at 15mins the power started to drop and I was at my max heart rate pretty much the whole way to the finish. I knew I wasn't going to set a PR but wanted to knock out the 20min interval to at least see where I could finish. Sprinted the last 30 seconds and then started to coast. Ended up at 296W but that last 8mins were pretty bad, I was pushing about 250W but it felt like 500. Doodled around and got some ice cream

I almost feel like lowering my FTP but I don't know if I was having an off day or what. I felt pretty damn good when the ride started.

ended up with TSS 100, 950 kj

Severe bee toxin allergy means that a simple honey bee sting causes anaphylaxis, which means hives, vomiting, restricted airways. So I have to carry an epi pen on every ride. I've had to use it 3 or 4 times now since becoming allergic. If I do it within the first few minutes, I am fine other than the huge knot in my thigh. It's intermuscular so the damn injection hurts more than the bee sting.

Never have had to do it in a race, though I thought I might be forced to at Snelling. Lots of hives set up along the road, and I had one or two bounce off my helmet. I guess if I did, I would have to disqualify myself since USADA prohibits epinephrine in competition.

Buy a spare or 2. It stinks, but you obviously have enough power for this to be an issue. You know it's going to fail, so be prepared.

Also, don't wait for it to fail. They will probably all fail at pretty regular intervals. Replace them before it's an issue. It's called 'preemptive maintenance'.

i have a pressfit30 adapter in my noah, but it's plastic, and you can't tighten the bb cups enough to keep them in, so when ever you apply a lot of torque the bb cups start to unscrew and the press fit adapter starts to come out the frame. I'm getting some metal super adapter this week (i think i should have the bike by tuesday). I want a new bike, but trying to find a new bike that i like it abit tough (i would like to use my team discount so it cuts alot of brands out, but i also don't want to have to order in a bike just to be disappointed).

Also i called the zipp distributer rep that lives in my area (works with one of the p/1/2 teams), and he thinks he might be able to find me a old 808 so i can run it on my noah.

Not sure if the brand is discounted for you, but my Fuji SST frames are awesome. I broke the BB shell out of a Madone with 1' intervals and sprints, but these Fujis BB shells don't move. Plenty of meat (just ask rkwaki).
