Rest week. Did 22 miles miles with some teammates at lunch. Hit one hill hard, 3s off of a PR. Tomorrow and Thursday off.

In all fairness, I was off the bike about 2 weeks for my vasectomy.

2hr w/ 6x10min sub threshold. Watts keep on creeping up on these sub threshold and rpe/intensity is staying the same all while adding more intervals each week. Seem to be working.

I need to rest my brain too during these times, and for that, I need some pain. I look at the rest weeks as being similar to taper: same intensity, lower volume. So, an easy ride with a 5' tough spot isn't a big deal. Planned day off today anyway.

...although you're not the only one to bring this up with respect to my "rest weeks." It works for me though, and I also have much lower volume than other racers during my blocks.

wanted 1.5 hours today with some sub threshold climbing, jsut to clear out my legs. Instead i got a 2 hour and 40 minute ride w/ 1.5 hours of it being with my coach, who felt like pushing up alot of hills...

first ride back was 150 tss, lot more than i wanted. I'm sleepy

Training fail. Was leaving for a lunchtime 2x20 session when I was reminded of my 1pm meeting, which then turned into a 2pm post meeting, which pretty much shot the rest of the afternoon. Bah.

Planned on a 60 min steady tempo workout after work but just couldnt get the power numbers. I figure I must not be completely better so tomorrow is a day of rest.

I had a set of 2x20s planned but I think I'm coming down with something so I just spun around for an hour.

We had a fire drill yesterday. Descending 14 floors of stairs has wrecked my calves. You'd think I hadn't ridden a bike in 20 years.

Which is why they're good when traveling. The leg motion is somewhat similar to riding and it's hard as hell.

Two hours z-bigring today. Somehow one of my new-ish speedplay x-2 pedals started acting up, would barely turn.. guess I need to take better care of these things, but so far they've lasted me years until that happened, not months like in this case.

I bonked big time. 2 hours and 45 minutes into the ride, i just lost everything, i had no power what so ever. Stopped at the local cafe next to the bike shop and killed two birds with one stone, ate everything in sight, and replaced my chain, cassette, and F.D. to a Shimano 7900 versus my old red one, which shifted like **** regardless of what anyone did to it.

total stats are 3 hours and 15 minutes, and 205 tss.
