Finished off 2012 with my first 1000+ mile month in December. 64 hours. Previous best was 48hr/820 miles. Pretty toast though, in the third week of a block and sitting at my previous CTL peak from last year already. Definitely feeling it.

Got my Powertap back from Saris the other day. Did another FTP test after 5 days off the bike, on vacay. FTP is where it was 4 weeks ago, but I suppose that's consistent with the hodgepodge training I've been doing.

Saris sent me an upgrade. It's now wireless, which means I had to get an ANT+ computer as well. I picked the Joule 2.0 off eBay. Holy data overload batman! Seeing TSS on the road is pretty neat, and it's great not having to do lactic math since IF is right there on screen. 8 Weeks till A-race, pretty stoked.

It'll certainly be better than here!! I've been checking the weather daily and they're 10* above us at least, not to mention much less rain. SJ area has been hitting temps that Seattle won't see for a good 5-6 months on average.. believe me it'll do just fine.

It's all down to which microclimate you're living in round here, how far you are from the moderating effects of the ocean or the bay. Whereabouts on SJ will you be? As a Brit, I definitely appreciate the lower annual rainfall round here.

I would not survive if I lived in places like that. Riding in the low 40s here as been miserable, I can't imagine much colder every day or having to ride the trainer/rollers every day. Winter just blows!

Hill repeats with weighted vest.

Resting a little more these days but needed it. Going to do more on the bike strength work and ramp it up a little for the early spring races. Cold out there but looking forward to getting in some miles this weekend.

2 days off in a row. primarily cause it's been cold and wet.

Satuday I have a roughly 6-7 hr mountain bike race. I'll ride today and tomorrow ~1 hr each just to keep the legs going. Need to stock up on my foods, and I think I'll get my camelbak out and clean the bladder.

It's just payback for last winter, which really wasn't a winter at all.

Another great thing about the Joule 2.0 is backlighting. I'm going to put the battery to the test tonight and leave it on during some ZCI's

kicked ass on my tempo ride this morning. it feels good to be back.

it was cold tho; all low-lying areas covered in frost. I wore a beanie, thick gloves, fleece lined padless tights over the bibs, fleece-lined long sleeved jersey and a wind vest. i was ok

Yeah but the Tour de Felasco is a 62 mile birthday party in the woods with chili in the middle. Lots of dirt to be had.
