Racing is training, right? Raced the Deschutes Brewery Cup cross race in Bend on Saturday then our final Cross Crusade race on Sunday. Saturday's race temps were around 5ish and Sunday warmed up to 16ish! I actually stayed warm while racing. We had about 4-5 inches of snow on the course so it was pretty awesome. Finished second in the 35+ race Saturady and won the Sunday race! Cross is over for me now - time to get out the skiny skis!
What i can't tell is are you jumping on your back/dismounting/stuck on the saddle?

Supposed to be a training day, but tweaked my ankle. My leg doesn't have the torque yet for real climbing. I can hit a high wattage on the flats, but when I dial it up and there is resistance (hills) my leg is trashed the next day.
I've put in 1600 miles since my ankle surgery, at this point I may tone down the riding and incorporate some weight training; my left leg somehow needs to catch up to my right leg and just riding is not working.

Yeah, I needed something to think about. Ran out of Galactica episodes and decided to try Mad Men. Doesn't quite grab me -- good though. Maybe House of Cards.

Yeah. I have a Roubaix-lined vest that I never wear because it's normally too hot. I was going to put it on eBay, but now I'm glad I hung on to it.

This morning I rode in a summer weight kit.
Tomorrow morning I will need a base layer as well as arm and knee warmers.
Hate me now and pity me in June, July, August, and September.

Went out for an hour of 80%, and broke a chain after 45 minutes. First time ever breaking a chain. The pin just came out ny the looks of it. Right in a turn lane when the light changed and I'm putting in a bunch of power to be courteous to the cars behind me, theres a loud BANG and my back wheel pops up and comes around the side. Looked down and was somewhat relieved it was only the chain. Sucks having to fix it this late at night though

I suddenly have a larger choice of jeans to wear. The ones that I wore last time I was in race shape suddenly fit again. That's a nice surprise and a great feeling.

First real day back in over a week. Sinus infections ****ing suck.
5x10"x5 hill sprint intervals this morning. Focusing on smooth power delivery at ~115rpm and shifting up smoothly. Neuromuscular power for the efforts (I was averaging 600-630w).
It was cold.

Couldn't finish my intervals last night due to the cold, it was freeeeezing. The rest of the week is going to warm up, I'll just man up more.
Hands are now good, but the feet are freeeeezing.

I think this may be an issue with the ones I already have. They're slightly oversized (wind/water proof) but not enough to wear liners underneath. Wamp wamp.
