Only age group. U19 plus I think we race with Elite 3 riders but obviously in the end the standings only count for whose in your age group (ie. if a U19 rider finishes second behind an elite 3 rider, you actually finish first because your not in the same age group). I wish we had cat ranking though, I like that idea way more.

Rest week. Did another close to 3-1/2 hr solo on Sat with a lot of big gear... 216 TSS and I was supposed to hit 240.

Tried to do 2 hours on Sun but ended up only doing an hour and change. I really felt the fatigue catching up.

Finally starting to see some progress on team rides. Still nowhere near where I want to be but it was nice not getting dropped constantly.

3.75hr at high endurance on Sunday. Nice to get a decent long ride in, been really struggling mentally and have a lot of things going on in life.

60 minutes easy spin this morning.

Laundry right now.

Foam roller in about 10 minutes.

Rebuilding a drive train this afternoon if the parts are in.

In vegas for 4 nights to escape the frozen north.

Did 3 hours including the red rock scenic loop first day, second day did 2.5 hours including the river mnt loop trail, today did 2 hours with some force drills by the canyon again. All on a super upright rental bike with reflectors etc. Got some "wtf" looks passing people on that setup.

Good times.

Got in 3.5hrs today, taking advantage of the unseasonably warm (61*!) holiday.
With no work and nice weather I had no excuses not to ride.

Kept a cadence/speed most of the ride with a few hard efforts on the climbs.
The legs felt okay, but I'm constantly being reminded of how much work needs to be done before racing this year.

Spent the day on skis chasing my son down a mountain. Don't know how many TSS, but I will be sore in the morning.

30' on the TT bike doing recovery level effort. Still need to jack with the positioning. Seat needs to go back 5-10mm more, and maybe a 2-3mm up. Will have to see how it feels. I need my torso stretched more, too bunched at the moment.

It's really cold out this week. Should have ridden this morning, but just couldn't get myself out the door. Will get 2-3 hours this afternoon hopefully.

Solid 3:15 solo ride on Sat. with lots of climbing. Sunday I did a quick 45 minute blast on the vintage MTB. Yesterday, instead of doing rollers, I went to pick up a 1965 Raleigh 3-speed. I needed a day off anyway. Tonight, rollers. I am unsure what kind of ride to do and will go with whatever feels right. This time of year, it is important to heat the machine so I may do high cadence drills. Got 5+ hours on the bike last week and some running in on top which is a good week for me.

Up at 4am and on rollers to do some spin work. Nothing really heavy duty, but worthwhile. Now at the airport getting on a big aluminum tube.

Got up early to go for a ride, but the cold front didn't help the motivation much.
Went for a 5mi run instead. Legs felt pretty heavy, wouldn't have been a great day to ride anyway.

Living in the South has me spoiled temperature wise. We're seeing the coldest temperatures of the year so far and the lows are still barely below freezing.

ermahgerd. -6F, and -19F with the windchill...cut what was supposed to be 75 min @ z2 down to 50 due to frozen feet. Heat wave tomorrow, though I hear it'll hit 20 degrees.

Yikes.

I almost had to start my ride with arm warmers today (52F), but didn't need them as the temp shot up to 58F earlier than expected.

Panicking a little. What the hell have I been doing all winter?! I rode with some racers on Saturday, and while I was up there with the Cat 2's, some of the Cat 3's I'll be racing against were looking really strong. I should have been riding at least Tempo all winter. None of this "90 minutes of Z2" stuff

Anyway, after the hammerfest I rode again on Sunday and Monday, getting in about 9 hours in the past 3 days. TSB was -37 yesterday, -24 today (no riding). Gonna get in another 150 TSS of Z5 and Z4 tomorrow and then head to Denver for vacay and rest week, then come back and ramp up as fast as I can before a quick taper and A-race in early March.

1.5hr w/ 10x1min @ max with 2 min recoveries. Ouch. I limped home, this was killer when I haven't done any top end stuff since October.

1.5 hr with 5x5' VO2 intervals. Pretty sure I need to go harder, but still titrating out RPE and what I can do without absolutely murdering myself on the first interval.

When I woke up this morning scale read 74.7 kg. I fully believe the weight loss is water weight, but still makes me feel fast.

4 1/2 x 4' VO2max intervals. I opted to go for a slightly higher power, on the cusp of Z6, and shorten the time from 5min to 4 min, as I feel like I need the power more than I need the duration for the race I have coming up. When I come back from the rest week I gotta start 30" on 30" off intervals to really push that AWC up.

Dropping off creatine now. I need to get rid of this water weight.
