It doesn't take much to derail the Training Status thread on a Friday!

to be fair, I trained by doing my easy ride on the TT bike so tomorrows TT will only feel 50% terrible!

So, 8 days no bike. Just finishing truing my wheels and I'll finally be riding tomorrow! What's weird is yesterday and today my legs have been sore... don't feel stiff and not the same as workout sore. Wondering if there is such a thing as not working out soreness.

Riding with this PM is sure eye opening.
I never thought that I would consider 180w anything but super easy. Here I am 2300kj later and I'm toast.

Hors Categorie on the menu, did GMR for the first time in years. 5600 ft of climbing, 211 TSS. Since I've been focusing on shorter rides and burst power, I haven't done anything like this since February. So of course I didn't eat enough, didn't bring any food, and wanted to turn back but the closest place with food was the summit. Overall it was a pretty awesome day.

Had a nice weekend of training this weekend. Did the Hamilton Cycling Club Binbrook TT on Saturday. They had a 20/40km option. I opted for the 20km since TTn is not my focus, it's my first time on the TT bike this year and my body just does not like 40km TTs. Wasn't sure what to expect since this was the end of a block and it has been a hard week of training. Weather was perfect an I was able to pull out a PB of 29:52, just a tad over 40kmh.
Sunday I did the Masters Cycling club ability based pursuit race. This was 60km race over rolling hills with a nice wind to make it interesting. Do to OCA insure requirements they can't do a traditional pursuit race and must send riders out TT style with 30sec separations, but once out there you can group up and draft. I spent a good 25km solo trying to catch the guy in front of me. Once I caught him I was able to rest up a bit. At this point we got passed by a larger group and I was actually able to attack and latch on, something that would not have happened last year. I hung with this pack for the next 25km or so. I was dislodged when a couple members of my team put in a couple nice attacks. I finished up solo with a nice 0.93IF effort. Rode 25km out to the race and 25km back. Pace was nice going home. Legs were, sore but there was still some kick.
People are starting to really notice my improved riding and the comment I keep hearing is confidence... Starting to wonder how much of this has to do with my change in marital status and a new attitude that I have. I know I am a stronger rider, but I also know I am riding with much more authority.
