I was pretty tired for a week after I got sick around new year's. On the bike, but not "on."
Recovery today, tempo tomorrow. There's this thing called a ramp. :)
I'm kinda proud of myself for today's work.
I started with ZCI's. After #2 I knew they were going to be real tough today. I let it fly and completed the whole set. #4 and #5 were freakin' tough. #6 went easier...something about being the last makes it easier mentally. On the way home from the park I was at I did 3-30 second sprints. I had to grunt on those, but again was happy with the numbers. I'm pretty zapped right now, but in a good way, for sure.

back in clogland, i'm tiny.
there was one guy i sometimes raced with who was huge. HUGE. so huge that he should have had a custom bike. instead he sat all the way back, and stretched all the way forward.
i could see the road under his saddle. thing is, due to that, he wasn't a very good draft.

Did a beep test today at school, got a 10.0 :D Feels like there's a 1,000 lb weight on my chest, it's very dry, and my legs. Ow. But I'm happy with it!
Wtf is a beep test?
"The test involves running continuously between two points that are 20 m apart from side to side. These runs are synchronized with a pre-recorded audio tape, CD or laptop software, which plays beeps at set intervals. As the test proceeds, the interval between each successive beep reduces, forcing the athlete to increase their speed over the course of the test, until it is impossible to keep in sync with the recording (or, in rare occasions, if the athlete completes the test). Many people who test people using the Multi-stage fitness test allow one level to beep before the person makes the line, but if the person being tested does not make the next interval then the most recent level they completed is their final score. The recording is typically structured into 21 'levels', each of which lasts around 62 seconds. Usually, the interval of beeps is calculated as requiring a speed at the start of 8.5 km/h, increasing by 0.5 km/h with each level thereafter. The progression from one level to the next is signaled by 3 quick beeps. The highest level attained before failing to keep up is recorded as the score for that test."
we do the same thing. It always happens the day after a hard workout, but i normamly get what ever the max is (we go till 130 i think)
I got lucky and did it after a rest day; I was tired metally but was feeling pretty good physically. What's 130? The max goes up to level 21 which is nearly impossible..
Am I supposed to be impressed?

3hrs tempo w/ 5' intervals once every 30' today. Weather was beautiful, sunny 65degrees!
First race is 3/30 giving me a little over 6 weeks to train, a week to taper/recover.
The power and ability to handle the surges in fast groups isn't quite there yet but I'm optimistic.
