1:45 of Z1-2 HR and Z2-3 power. Good ride. Didn't realize how sore my legs were from yesterday until I started to ride. It took a while to get them freed up.

How should one feel after an LTHR test? I did one this morning for the first time in a looooong time. I tried to pace it so I could hold constant but I don't think I went hard enough. It was 15F on my commute so I got a little cold by the end. Well my toes did anyway.

You know those days when you feel like crap on the warm up and you feel even crappier still during the first 20' but you get through it and then you feel like less crap on the second 20' and by the time you finish it you're feeling pretty damn good?

Ok...watching a movie while on the trainer made it much more tolerable. Its a good thing because the mornings around here will be much too cold for me to ride outside for the next 10 days...

today i watched the first half of Pirates of the Caribbean.

I don't know if I'll ever do another one of those. They just suck too bad. I'd much, much rather get my threshold numbers by a 20 minute test. I don't like short efforts...1-3 minutes. I can do 5 minute VO2 stuff and I can do a 30 second sprint without dying. The stuff in the middle just kills me, though.

They do suck, but as jb discovered, it's pretty good training for your brain-over-legs control

Did a 5' test today in the middle of a JRA ride. Felt good to keep the suffer on for the duration -- but at first it didn't feel like I could hold on for the whole thing. Came out at 5.0 W/kg, so I'm reasonably happy with that.

Still trying to look ahead rather than thinking back to before the big infection, but it's been a year now. Sheesh.

1.5hr w/ 6x3min @ max on Tuesday.
2hr w/ 6x10min @ 100% on Wednesday.

Training is going great w/ the numbers I saw Wednesday!

1:20hr - 2x20s @ 85%
same thing tomorrow
2hr power endurance on saturday or sunday, I'll decide when I'm there based on how I feel.

2x20 on the trainer at 5:30 this morning for the first time in ages. It sucked, but was nice and time efficient.

WRI's last night for the first time this year. FUUUUUUUUUUDGE. Burped up a little bit of lunch.

I was doing them up hills because, well, that's what I want to do. The first 2 I tried "all out, punishing the cranks for being cranks" and only made it to 30 seconds before crying, so, I figured getting to 1 minute is more important than max-MAX power right now, as my anaerobic systems haven't been punched much yet this year. So, for the last three I went hard hard, instead of sprint sprint. Still puked a little bit, so that counts for something, right? average power was still well above Z7 threshold. I'll let you all know how the next one goes.

2x20'. In the wind and on my bike without the PM so I'm sure my power was all over the place. HR and RPE is good enough for me today.
